1st of all thanks 4 watching. I bought a pickup but the shop din help me install parts of pickup. Crying or Very sad So i nid diy myself... The front pickup part i think is ok but only now the last part donno how to join. Sad My pickup is Sunrise Pickup.

Their official instruction is here.
http://www.sunrisepickups.com/Sunriseinstall.html
but i dun reli understand without step by step picture to connect with. If reli follow the instruction, F and G and turn upside down but i think dat's not a problem. Very Happy

I believe A is connect to Ground. B is shortest, C second long, D was the longest. E is pickup itself put at guitar soundboard hole, F and G connect together. And the last part was make me headache, I and H connect which ABCD. H is center insulated wire, I should b connect to Ground. My fren told me I shud connect to ground, and H connect B and C together. Is it correct? In fact he dunno anythg abt pickup so i din reli got faith on him.

Thanks 4 guidance! :respect: :respect: :respect:

its better to buy yourself a Mono cable instead of stereo to avoid any complication regarding pickup...

as for the jack, as far as i know i only used A & D. A is for ground, and D for hot.
i may be wrong, you can test it one by one, by placing the wires on the jack,

this is for accoustic right?

so what u get is the right thing..dont need to change it...it need a stereo jack after all..

doesnt H and I is the other end of the jack ?? i mean the jack that should be plug into an amp? or a pre-amp / buffer box? i think u just need to solder it to the another male jack

currently need to know more how u planning on installing it?

basically to see in ur photo, seems u already done wiring the female jack with the pick up... so thats mean F and G are connected as connector..the one u done is for inner installation.. which some people install it thru your guitar pin strap, so it would look nice (permanent installation).. some just direct soldering the male jack to the pick up which the wire will go out thru ur guitar sound hole, so it make the pick up easily to be remove and use on other guitar.

but to be remember, if your guitar is a stereo jack, mean the amp need a female stereo jack also. Thats why sunrise did sell the buffer box to convert the signal stereo to mono.

so dont be confuse about H and I and also G if u already soldering the F to E...its done!!...the G , H , I is optional wire given in the installation kit. Those Option are like i said:

1) permanent installation, which using F to E
2) outside wired thru sound hole, which using G connect to E using H and I.

this is using option number 2...G to E..go out thru sound hole

this is option 1, connect F to E thru your pin strap hole

just keep the the GHI safely incase u want to install the sunrise buffer box, you might need it. Just need to buy extra stereo male jack for H and I later. or maybe your guitar body is too long, so you need to connect the F and G to extend it (like the picture below)..all u need is another female stereo jack on the end side out to the pin strap hole.

sunrise Pre-amp / buffer box

so basically ure done Smile
Hope this could help u..

tried on electric pickups before.. no burn...
i believe if you wrongly connect between hot & ground connection, the only thing will happen is the pickup will work in inverse circuitry...

about the jack, what i do last time is.. i connect the ground wire to D and test to connect the the hot wire to A. B & C until it create a sound or at least cracking noise. one of it must work...

if you still afraid to test it on your pickup... you can test the connection using other cheaper device such as speaker, radio etc...

i dont know how you get the cable, but most of pickup works in mono...

Jiro: yes, accoustic guitar. H and I is for connect to endpin jack. Tis pickup can remove not like other pickup force place at guitar sound hole and the endpin jack.

Sunrise got 2 type pickup. 1 is removeable another 1 cant. And as they suggest if ur guitar travels by air or is shipped, it is advice remove dat pickup fr guitar. Mayb dat pickup too heavy my break the guitar hole?

In fact guitar endpin jack consider female TRS connector. And F and G is 3.5mm connector. TRS connector are bigger head so im imposible confuse. haha!

And yes, i oso follow him
http://www.littlebrotherblues.com/Gear/SunrisePickup/index.htm
lastime. I bought the L.R.BAGGS PADI too like him. But on whole website i din found any video/youtube/picture teaching how to soldering them but using words teaching. Too technical. The BCD too many connector make me confused...

ETERNAL: Gud suggestion! i'l use cheap speaker to try out. The cable is same type cable like middle E and F one. Stereo oso.

boyroy: i notice too~ As he said " TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR GUITAR. ". I guess wat he mean is be caution when u use Power Drill to drill ur back guitar to those guitar without hole to put endpin jack. Or u shud screw pickup on ur guitar soundhole. Dun too tight otherwise break ur hole...[/b]
