They're not big in the home recording market anymore. And they don't have an authorized distributor here.

If you're serious about getting a digital multi-tracker, go for Korg's D1200mkII which retails for slightly over RM3,000 at CK Music (you can talk to Amizan on 03-21420529/21450178).

It's a portable 24bit-capable 12-tracker that has plenty of pristine-sounding effects, preset drum patterns, a pair of XLR inputs with phantom power, and most importantly, a well thought-out user interface.

This is the official Korg link for the D1200mkII:

Here's my review of the first-generation D1200:

ive heard your recorded stuff using the korg multi track recorder....its great stuff...im wondering, could you record real live acoustic drum sounds using it? or even record a live recording of a jam session?

While the D1200 can only record four tracks simultaneously, you can use a sub-mixer for things like drums and other instruments.

Just plan ahead before doing the recording.

That's more or less what we did for this track which features live drums (a pair of CS1000S as overheads, SM57 for snare and SM58 for kick):

Ive listen to the track good stuff...the drums sounded really balanced and natural...i can hear the acoustic sounds really well...now i can wait to save money and purchase the korg multi track recorder..and record my live acoustic drums.. but just one thing i was kind of lost when you mention (a pair of CS1000S as overheads, SM57 for snare and SM58 for kick): what are those equipment you mention above? do you mind explaining them to me? ..if its not to much trouble..... Laughing

Yoga's EM-9600 battery-powered condensers are a steal for under RM200. Great as drum overheads and for recording acoustic instruments.

You can also eavesdrop on neighbours in super-sensitive mode if you wish!

They're very solid (metal chassis) mics and come in a neat case with holder, cable and windscreen.

Smile
