FYI, aku pakai laptop compaq presario with Windows 7, soundcard biasa je, pakai software Audacity, masa recording, tiap kali petik gitar adala dlm 0.5-1 saat baru bunyi keluar kat monitor, bile check bukan nya sound card, takkan processor kut, siapa yang tau nak solve problem nih?
aku dah set kan maximum performance utk audio
orang kata Latency problem!
aku nak angkat mac book pro, agak2 boleh solve problem ni ker |

kalau kau dah nak angkat mac book pro, baik angkat macbook pro je, spec pun ok, btw, aku pun pakai mac book pro dgn i7, cun je buat kerja..
utk jawab soalan tu, waktu record, setkan latency ke paling rendah, kalau playback, setkan latency paling tinggi. spec komputer kau apa ?

sound card biasa tuh sound card apa? onboard soundcard? dia pakai windows direct sound atau ASIO driver? yg nih kene check dulu.. nih first step yg kene take cover...
other stuff yg buat jadi latency adalah, buffer size, cpu usage, harddisk buffer size, bios update compatibility, driver dan running background. Tapi yg nih semua kebarangkalian terjadi tuh tipis, hanya 5%... but tak salah kalau check 
so kalau boleh kasi lebih detail about sound card apa yg di guna dan spec pc.. maybe boleh membantu..
***onboard soundcard / realtek soundcard commonly mmg not suggested for recording due to non support ASIO and super high latency. Why? It was made to be using windows direct sound, which all signal yg masuk from input akan go alot of windows processing b4 kita dapat dgr output nya. sometime benda nih kalau guna onboard soundcard boleh solve guna ASIO4ALL tapi tak semua berjaya..can try..free download.

hmm, baru aku perasan laptop aku dinosaur la, pakai onboard soundcard kut
Windows 7 PE
hp-compaq Presario V3000 series
AMD Turion 64 X2
Integrated audio; 2 x speakers
Conexant High Definition Audio (for AMD)
2GB RAM
aku ada terbaca, pakai windows 7 pon mungkin boleh jadi punca |

hurm....aku rasa tak jadi masalah dgn windows 7...aku pun pakai 7 64bit no issue...
dari spec pc no problem... but integrated audio mmg not for recording. Mmg selalu akan ada masalah latency, plus dia guna directsound windows, dan juga HD integrated windows audio.
if me, mmg tak tgk benda lain dah.. the sound card je as we know that sound has no built in ASIO support, not made for recording or handle work of recording purpose. Conexant High Definition Audio was OEM soundcard that was design for basic user with HD integrated to codec some HD games and HD movie audio. and dia no problem to play back sound kat DAW, but bile nak record ada latency, lagi lagi ada monitoring...plus with some vsti perhaps.
aku rasa the best is to get a new Audio Interface that was design to handle recording purpose, tak kesah walau pun yg murah punya. But stay away from soundblaster. And sebab kau guna laptop...cari yg guna usb 2.0
