Hmnnn im not sure...aku tak pernah pakai stereo widening VST...kenapa plak nak pakai mende ni...isn't the L-R controls enough for you??

Stereo Widening ni dia kasi kita pun sound lagi "kembang". sorry eh. aku vocab dlm mender ni mmg kureng. Aku jumpa satu ni kat google search.. free. At the moment since aku ada ni jek.. macam ok jek.
Rasanya mender ni bleh achieve result yg sama using layering and main main panning kot. but... ala cam photoshop la ni. dulu nak bikin effect "kotor2" macam macam brush pakai. skrg.. se click jek dah bleh dapat.
Try aa.. and then advice me on which method is better.

Aku ader satu technic.. tak tau that ur intension to used ker tak... but this is how i used it no matter what system or software but the concept dia sama la.. ok let say u got a guitar track mono.. and you want to make it into wide stereo.
1. first we need to make a stereo meat.. duplicate the guitar track to another track. pan the setiap track to either 80%-100 % left and right. But when playing togather it still sound like mono but only louder.
2. to fix this.. then on the second track used a delay plugins.. i think most software comes with digital delay. Ok here the settings
Delay- 16 milisecond
Mix - 100%
LPF-off
Depth- 0%
Rate - 0
Feedback - 0
Now listen.. the sound sekang dah phat kan? 16 ms is good number pasal dia cukup untuk separate the track for unwanted noticeable phasing, but to our ears it not good enouf to separate the rhythmic timing betwen those two tracks. This technic is also used to thiken some drum or percassion . i used this technic on my last project with mohram. a lot of time saver.
another things.. if the delay plugins also just not to do this.. but with a bit of creativity, you can create a lot of effect just from a delay plugins. you can make phaser, stereo blur, chorus out of it. just play with the settings.. nanti nanti i give the settings..

Aku mana plak kemutnyee.... Aku tak suka duplicate track camtu la.. Bukan nak mengata lizard la...tapi pada aku itu teknik pemaleh..
Bila aku record guitar aku selalu record dua seperate tracks.... dengan sound setting yang berlainan...lagi phat sound dia.. aku selalu record dalam stereo. PAs tu baru aku pan...tapi takde la sampai 80-100% panning...selalunye dala 60 - 70%....aku suka sound dia blend skit....
lepas tu ...three....kah kah kah..

hehe.. that's why there is no or right way to do it.. 
it just how you want to do it.. aku buat cam tue pasal studio charges.. save time and cost.. and kemas.. play along pun ok.. but if silap main masa recording kena punch lagie.. leceh.. and one more.. it's imposible to get it exactly the same.. but two performance yg lebih kurang sama will get the same result and a bit loose lar..it's not bad.. its how the song should be.. nak kemas or control.. or want a bit live and loose..depends on how you want to do your mixing.. but when the two track went to a mono channel.. it will often cancel each other.. but when it's pan ok aper..

Agreed
Having a polished sound is cool....but too polished you can start sounding clinical. Which is why i like it a bit 'loose'...hish ketat sgt tak best plak nanti hehehehehe....

eh siut. aku tak perasan pun thread ni dah panjang.
thanks lizard. nanti aku main2 ngan settings2 ko suggest tu. This is what I'm looking for bro.
Chatroom eh.. nanti nanti.
gua tengah budget2 resources ni. chatroom ni gila babens pakai resources ni. Unless bleh pakai something yg dah ready ada macam yahoo messenger. bleh bedal bandwidth diorang jek and tak pakai kita punya server recources kat sini.
But the upcoming changes yg aku nak bikin dulu mostly berkenaan ngan band/artist admin tu. + the way our songs to be displayed on the pages. people should be able to get/find any songs/bands with ease. aku rasa skrg ni macam tak jek. still macam.. leceh.
anyway.. tips like the one u gave us.. is better documented in the forum right right?
