I totally love all 3 solos!!! And the best thing is that everybody sounds so distinctly different from one another!
Erylasia's solo is an intelligent solo...he's very thoughtful about the choice of notes and everything...very mature. It's not just a solo...it's almost a song within a song.
Synthdude's solo is explosive and angry sounding...the song needs this solo to keep Neil Young's original rebellious and forceful musical message! Initially, I felt that I had to do my solo to pay homage to the late 70's early 80's era in order not to let this song go too futuristic, but thank god synthdude nailed that job perfectly with his amazing solo...love the stinging guitar tone too! I vote that this solo should stay!
I love the guitar tone of Izuan's...very thick fat tone akin to Vinnie Moore's tone on the album 'Time Odyssey'. His vibe reminds me of Vinnie himself too in some places!
Now with all 3 of you having done a great job...Erylasia with his Satriani-ish vibe, Synthdude paying homage to the early 80's and Izuan with his late 80's-early 90's stylings...what the hell am I gonna do here?
Man...the pressure is building up! |

And on my headphones (AKGs, no less!), but it wasn't too obvious and sounded kinda freaky-nice so I ignored it. It probably got in there via a guitar pickup or more likely during the MP3 conversion process. Stranger things have happened!!
Ery's solo's out of this world man!
BTW, I agree... brother Bode should do the second solo as well.

Because the latest mix is clearer -- I brought up the highs a bit. Anyway, a hantu in the mix is always a good sign! |

Errr...but I love synthdude's second solo part!
Decisions....decisions....ok...final....should I solo on the last part with synthdude's solo in place in the 2nd part, or I solo the second part with the 'guitar duel' at the end? Once decided after this post, I will conform to it
Damn....all my gear is still in Azman's studio and I'm not sure when I have the time to go and pick it up! |

And really let rip at the end.
My solo, basically a one-take recorded after a couple of passes, was never meant to be in. That's why I just did an ad hoc goreng. But it did help me to wipe the dust off from my Gibson SG '61 Reissue, though!
Anyway, I can always do an alternate mix, or better yet, extend the song and splice in my old-school-style solo after yours for my own fun later. |

I really hope pada bro bode punya contribution.
But if bro bode doesnt has the time, Mr. Synthdude Young still can lick the 2nd part.
But final decision is up to bro Bode samada nak ke tak nak.
Gue setuju aja sapa2 dong! _________________ Gelanggang guitar : http://guitarden.starahead.com |

You know man....I'm really itching to play on this collab! I've always wanted to do a collab with each of you guys...and suddenly, we have this opportunity to all play together in the same song!
As far as where I should solo, i leave it to izuan and synthdude to decide since they are the guys sitting in the producer's seat for this project. I would be extremely happy with any options.
One problem though, I still havent got the time to get my gear from the studio, and once that happens, I gotta find time to plug in and play! So you guys have to wait a bit before I could finish this off. BUT, if I'm keeping everything stalled for too long, I wouldnt mind if you give the solo slot to someone else dudes! I feel guilty about slowing down this project. |
