here is a little survey for my assignment..... i am doing a business plan for a recording studio. my plan was to offer recording facilities for all potential independant bands in malaysia. beside from recording facility, i also plan to self duplicate those recorded songs into CD and promote it through this planning independant bands' center. so here i would like to ask u all to help me out with this few question:

1. what do you think if there is an established organisation to help independant bands in malaysia to record and promote?

2. how much do your band spend on rehearsing in jamming studio per week?

3. are you willing to sell your song to this organisation with low prices? all the credits still remain to the band.

4. if the requirement of getting your band's album recorded and promoted through this organisation is your commitment and loyalty to this organisation (maybe contract will be offered), what do you think?

well thanks for answering my little survey. if all this stuff work out... maybe it will become a large record label specially for malaysia's bands. SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC !!

cheers Very Happy

1. dude, what do u mean by "to help"? Free studio hours?

2. my band only rehearse when there's a gig. If we have a gig tomorrow.. then we'll jam tonite for 3 hours max.

3. No. How bout profit sharing?

4. depends on the contract and the organization. I prefer no contract. We should have the freedom to go with anyone who can help promote our music.

maybe this way... (is not to mean to offend)... this organisation need financial support to run all the recording, promotion and cd duplication. this organisation is not running as free.. so how do this get this finance to promote you guys is from the money of all the jamming session. maybe i did not state it clearly and i am very sorry about that. maybe at the time when this organisation established and have enough finance to support maybe free jamming session will be provided...

and i clarify here... this organisation will pay untill certain amount of money which reach professional level. and we are not talking 50 or 100 bucks. you would not be happy too rite. or maybe another method will be used which i am still working on...

if an agreement established between you and this organisation... how much would you spend on you own album...??

sorry for providing so little information to you but .... i will improve more on this idea. thanks for answering. you helped me alot...
