looking for dynamic microphones? well u can get cheaper price but professional audio equipment, behringer XM8500. cost about RM160. the frequency response also exactly like Shure SM85. so try to get it at Pasar road or go to their official website http://www.behringer.com/

First of all you must decide what you want to do with your mic...

-if you want to use it purely for recording then its best to get a studio condenser microphone. There is an entry level studio condenser microphone from Behringer which i use its the Behringer Studio Condenser Microphone C-1 This mic is so cheap it costs £29.00 only here in the UK thats RM210.00 in Malaysia. Microphone ni baguih....murah pun murah...quality recording bagus...

-if you want to use it for musical instruments then you want to get a Shure SM-57. It's a unidirectional microphone and its design allows it to withstand high volume levels. You can use this microphone live for vocals and instruments alike. Im sure you can get cheaper unidirectional mics...but remember quality depends on how much you pay for them.

-if you are just going to use the mic for live vocal work then i recommend an SM-58 or an SM58 Beta

Sebenarnya aku boleh tulis satu thesis pasal microphone ni...Elok you decide what your budget is and what purpose you are going to use it for before you spend your hard earned cash on a microphone.

hope i have been of some help!

Yep Ridzi, I agree with you, C-1 rocks...its even used in top notch professional studios and some producers prefer this to mics costing many times more!

Behringer Studio Condenser Microphone C-1 nie unidirectional ke onmi.. satu lagi... kalau live boleh guna skali ke... pasal aku nak yg multi use.. boleh guna untuk recording, live etc... tapi kalau omni sakit skit la... feedback!!!! waaa.. bunyi yg paling aku tak suke dlm dunia nie.. kuikuikui!!!!

i dont think it's uni directional..anyway kalau kau nak guna condenser utk live selalu nya orang guna for overhead drum cymbal miking and acoustic guitar miking ..feedback aku rasa kalau pandai control EQ most probably wouldnt give u any problem kot...tapi nyanyi live selalu nya orang tak guna condenser..most probably sm 58 or 57..but it is always a good idea to have one for recording (condenser mic) , for miking cymbals , acoustic instrument or just getting that room ambient as you record other stuff.... i'm planning to get one insyallah to mic my cymbal cos right now it sounds not as crisp and splashy with uni mics..what to do no money hehe..

that's my 2 cents..

waaaa.. tu dah citer bab cymbals.. what i mean utk vocals sahaja... yg multi use... recording and live... i think shure 57... any suggestion?? what bout' TEV mic... aku penah jumpe yg super cardiodid pattern... around 150+ ... murah.. tapi kualiti tak sure.. tapi kalau standard behringer aku rase ok kot...

SM57 multipurpose.. tetapi not so good for vocals when you are recording your demo... It works well with loud instruments though...

But by all means you can use it for recording and live...just dont expect shiny results thats all...
