guna tali? wah hebat tu.
aku rasa initial plan dia was open lah pasal no entrance fee dikenakan. But since sponsor dah cabut, and nak kenakan bayaran masuk pulak.. kena lah letak partition (extra cost), Kalau pakai tali jek.. baik buat free terus. buang tali jek.
kalau aku ditempat diorang, aku akan kusut skrg, and tgh terhegeh2 cari sponsor baru. kalau tak dapat,.. aku kensel.
apa2hal pun.. public need to be informed.
ramai orang nak pegi ni..dengar ceritanya lah. it's like everybody is talking about this big event! _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

Wah...seems like a lot of problems is going on....
I hope the ticket won't cost above RM20. I already bought my bus ticket and applied annual leaves. Already too late to cancel my trip, man. I also hope it will go on well. Otherwise, I'll go makan Char Kueh Tiow or mee goreng Penang instead. |

Hmm...seems like nobody post anything about this gig at all after it's over...no review...no picture...nothing at all...apa pasal?
I was there at Dewan Sri Pinang that day. The gig cost RM18 but I would not complain even though it's slightly expensive for underground gig. I think most of the people visit it due to the gig rather than the art displayed. I would say that the venue is better than Paul's Place - ventilation is good + I don't get any headache although it's a 12 hour event. Sound system seems better than Paul's Place too. Sorry, I have been criticising Paul's Place a lot lately.
It's a mixed up of established underground bands/artists and less known underground bands. The bands played in all kinds of languages..English, Malay, Hokkien, Mandarin, etc. That's something I like...after all we're Malaysians. There were bands that I love and hate. I won't mention the ones I hate though. The Uglymen are one of those that I love - they played a Hokkien song dedicated to all the single men (try to guess the title). It's one funny song that everyone enjoyed and laughed all the way. There's a band that mixed up "joget" and punk (forgot the band's name) - very cool. The new material of Bittersweet is excellent too. I love the new sound of Damn Dirty Apes too. Lots of great bands from Penang waiting to be heard and not forgetting those who travelled all the way from other states.
Generally, it a wonderful gig. I'm looking forward to the next one probably next year.
The only complaints I have are probably the entrance fee, the toilets are under renovation, my nephew and I had stomach problems after eating the mee goreng nearby (not so near actually) |

Thanks for the review totziens. I was wondering about it also!
i think RM18 is ok since from what you've posted, there is a good blend of performers and acceptable sound system. Plus, good ventilation is kinda rare in underground gigs
how was the turn up? _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

I wish someone could post the photo somewhere.
ok...I could not help myself from revealing what The Uglymen sang...it's about ..."phak cui cheng" (It means masturbation in Hokkien).....
People basically came and left at the gig. The crowd was considered ok. Not overcrowded. I knew of some people that went and left for a nap..then returned again. It's a long event....I guess it's natural for people to do so. Being a "kiasu" (scared of losing) person, I stayed there most of the time. I was so pissed off with myself when my nephew and I went for a dinner thinking it was an unannounced break time. Upon returning, we saw Citizens of Ice Cream playing half way. Then the real break time was announced. I almost slapped myself
Yeah, nice catching up with you, Azwi. Compilation - it's closed for further submission now. We've reached the max limit - no more song can fit in. In preparation for production now. Things are going slow due to all kinds of unforseen circumstances (car was banged by a runaway lorry, fell sick, CD defect of a band, etc) |
