Brian Setzer is amazing. Period.
Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Peter Green, Gary Moore, Albert Collins are great too
Favourite RJ song? Crossroads- even EC's version don't give me the creeps like RJ's.
Personal favourite: BB King |

recommend beli the king of the delta blues singers, out on columbia/legacy records i believe. if you are familiar with cream's version of his crossroads or even led zeppelin's version of travelling riverside blues, you can just try to make some comparison.
robert johnson's recordings are very few and far between (the entire collection is available on a double CD set). recorded sometimes in the 30's in a bloody hotel or office room with one guitar. familiar blues phrases you listen in today's music can be heard in their original form. main tak ikut time, tapi... you can pengsan, man! _________________ "my small self...like a book amongst the many on a shelf.."

yep what krik have said is true.. and also to add, for a while there ppl were ripping off robert johnson without giving a single cent to his estate/relatives for all the covers of his songs that they have done ..(eg eric clapton etc) but back in 80s they started paying robert's relative balik la..
by the way ..listen to albert king... itu mmg bes..you can clearly see where stevie ray vaughan got his licks from.. rasanya album laundromat blues..shit forgot the proper title of the album..kalau album tu ada songs like personal manager and laundromat blues...get that one.. _________________ my photoblog - http://sigemok.blogspot.com |
