Aku nak komen sikit apa yang dia bising pasal Butterfingers... yes they USED to sound like a Nirvana rip off. Tapi I do wonder has he ever heard all of their albums, because if he did, I am sure that he will notice the evolution of the band from one that is heavily influenced by Kurt Cobain and friends, to a solid band with their own sound, or in that kit's terminology, something original. I am not a butterfingers fan, but if I can appreciate that, why not he himself, who confessed he used to like the band. Its funny to me because, in my case, if I used to like the music of a certain band, chances are that I still like the music today. I might not be a big Metallica fan I used to be 10 years ago, but I still listen to them once in a while, and damn they still kick my ass everytime. _________________ Can you feel the groove? |

agreed, but Load and Reload is a load and relaod of bull..sorry . And saint anger is just bloody joke.
and totziens? youre argument is very well articulated and has merit, and i doubt anybody would take offence with such an eloquent explanantion. I had the same problem though not with the government, rather the social engima of not belonging to either side of the fence...atleast its made me more than understand both sides of the argument. Half plus half sometimes do not equal a whole in society .. its saddening to growup hearing 'dia bukan melayu betul tu'..or 'he's not really chinese leh' from relatives. |

Thanks, Jeff.
I am one of those people who have thought of leaving the country too. When I was in overseas, I could see that racism was a bigger problem comparing to Malaysia. In New Zealand I was a laughing stock of 10 year-old kids because I wasn't white. My friends and I were splashed with a packet of water by a passing car in Scotland because we're Asians. We walked passed a homeless man ignoring him because we're not interested in his magazines and we were insulted with "ok...you guys don't speak English anyway". That's one of the reasons I come back to Malaysia besides the nice Malaysian food. Although Malaysians still say bad things about other races but we're not so obvious. I hate it when some Chinese call the Malays "pigs" and the Indian "black one". I guess non-Chinese would call us "the greedy ones" or "the tiny eyes".
I think new generation of Malaysians should not be so particular about race or religion. We got to stick together as one country. Yes, our country is not perfect...which country is? Our music scene is imperfect...so is the Western music scene. Frankly speaking I have spoken to some Malays and they were a bit concern about the quota system themselves. If I were them I would be worried too. The quota is supposed to bring the Malays to achieve a better living standard in order to compete with other races. Those who abuse it will turn the quota system into "spoon feeding" system. This will cause the Malays to lose out in the end because in this century we are not competing among ourselves in Malaysia. We have to compete with other countries as well. The government should encourage multi-racial to work together. I can see that the good quality of every races combined will make this country a better place. Some Brits expected Malaysia to end up with a civil war after independence because they tried to place Chinese in towns, Malays in kampungs and Indians at rubber estates. Our ancestors proved them wrong. We maintain this kind of good relationship among all races.
Sorry, I seem to have the urge to go out of topic in almost every thread lately. |

Yeah...I'm not racist too...I only love good people and hate bad people. Colour and ethnicity has no significance whatsoever.
I spent a lot of time overseas...about 10 years...and of course the rest of my life was/is here in Malaysia. During all these years, I have been victimised by Malays/Caucasians/Chinese/Indians etc.(races appear in random order) ....and the ones who actually helped me out to overcome these victimisations were Malays/Caucasians/Chinese/Indians etc.
So...you got my point |
