beginner tak payah la hantar2 setup ni.. rugi duit jer..kalau ko dah faham apa yg kau buat, baru berbaloi hantar setup ke apa ke... so cuba ko tinggikan sikit string tu. (adjust kat saddles)Tinggi sikit je takper.. bagus jugak utk kuatkan jari..
lagipun aku rasa string tu buzzing sikit jer..
lagi satu pesan aku, kalau nak jadi guitarist, ko kena tau sedikit sebanyak part2 yg ada kat guitar ko dan istilah2 macam itonation, acion dll. Ini basic! kko search kat internet berlambak.. ok roger. _________________ Gelanggang guitar : http://guitarden.starahead.com |

Betul tuh... besides la, it is good to get your guitars professionally setup at least once a year. Macam kereta la jugak... sesekali kena bawak servis. Besides la, kalau truss-rod yang problem, aku rasa naikkan action aje tak dapat selesaikan problem tu. Takut lelama neck gitar tu twisted pulak. Truss rod ni sensitirf, kalau beginner tu, jangan usik la... _________________ Can you feel the groove? |

woah.. tak sangka aku, adjustment nie boleh makan dekat RM200!! Buat masa ni aku takda duit lagi utk semua tu. Is it possible kalau kita adjust sendiri? Risiko dia mcm mana um? |

pada aku beginner cocentrate pada playing la dulu. Yes.. kalau kaya banyak duit RM150 tu mmg sikit la. Tp utk aku, for only 2 spot of minor buzzing sampai nak kena spent RM150 mmg really an arm and a leg to me la..
but kalau neck bengkok sebbb truss rod problem ke atau lain2 major problem baru la pi hantar tech.. itu berbaloi la..
mcm mana beginner nak tau how a good guitar feels like? org yg dah kenal guitar je boleh tau..
jailhouserock: kalau setakat adjust intonation dgn action tu ko cari tutorial dia kat internet pastu cuba buat sendiri.. itu simple je risiko dia rendah je.. paling kuat pun guitar ko sumbang mambang..hahaha(temporary risk) tapi ko boleh belajar sampai perfect.. kalau ko nak adjust truss rod sendiri..itu berisiko tinggi. boleh sampai retak dan patah(permanent risk) tp kalau ko tau apa yg ko buat... dan nak cuba .. just do it man! technician tu dulu masa dia lahir pun dia bukan terus pandai _________________ Gelanggang guitar : http://guitarden.starahead.com |

+1. I agree.
I just bought a new electric guitar, and the 6th & 5th string buzz like shit. After I readjusted the truss rod and the floating trem, everything is fine now.
RM150 is alot of money ler ... I'm not a pro la,but I think its fun to learn how to do simple setup yourself, internet is your best fren.
&of coz there r lots of factors la: action too low, pickups height, trem, fret etc....if really cant fix it yourself then send it to the pros.
Try these sites :
http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/setup/index.htm
http://www.magnusolsson.com/ (Under guitar setup)
Try to experiment abit with your axe k? Jz my 2cents.
Thanks,enjoy ur day |

Truss rod readjustments is not part of simple setups... it is always better to send it to someone who knows his shit... To me RM150 is not that much money compared to the peice of mind that you get. Come on, 150 ringgit per year for the maintainence of your guitar is not that much, I think it is a little more than RM10 permonth, if you do it once a year....

Klasik'A
Azizi Masri @ G.G.: 017-620 1712
btw refretting has few factors; the type, size & make of the fret-wires, the type, shape & condish of the fretboard...etc. so according to Klasik'A, prices can range from RM300 o RM550 (inclusive of setup, strings & refurbishment). hope this helps...
sahabat-sahabat,
dah laa korg, jgn gaduh²! hehe... ade duit hantar laa setup pd yg pro. if rase adventurous & nak learn new things, buat laa sendiri. both have risks so u have to bear ur own choice lah...
aku memang malas & tak gifted dlm hal² setting-up nie, tuh psl aku hantar. coz benda ni memang a form of art and aku tau how tekun & lamanya aku belajar, resultnya akan jadi too far from what i really want. still jauh dr apa yang boleh dihasilkan oleh seorg pro...
and then wan akan tulis; "kau belum cuba, belum tahu riki!" hahahahaha! sorry... i'm not thinking passively, i'm just a realist!
tapi aku ada high respect towards people who wanna learn & keep learning...
so have a nice day crowd... _________________ [ r i k i r a h m a n ]

hahaha. kau pun dah pandai kasi pre-emptive response to potential rebukes!
i personally feel some things are best learnt being an apprentice. i'm sure you can learn, say, carpentry from books and the net, but to have someone in the know teaching you is priceless. taking the carpentry example still, learning it on your own in this case is fine, but kalau fuckup benda mcm kayu boleh beli and diganti.
but a guitar? if it's gone, it's gone especially if you can't afford to buy a guitar a week. i'm with riki on being a realist with this one. _________________ "my small self...like a book amongst the many on a shelf.."
