hi yi..welcome to i-bands...vsti is basically a plugin format that enables you to use third party plugins w any recording software..dont think it is limited to midi..for example if you have voice track laid down , you can use some vsti plugin that can add reverb or compression to that.... dxi i'm not so sure..something like a plugin format i think...as for the midi adapter you might wanna go jalan pasar or lowyat plaza ..hope this helps..by the way just search the forum for keywords like 'vst' 'midi' ..there should be a few threads on this matter...

Yes yi.. they are both correct.. but i like to add that VSTi and DXi is same on their functionality(as omar said) but in different format. VSTi is proposed by Steinberg company for use in their product like Cubase, Nuendo etc. DXi was proposed by cakewalk. But recently most of the sequencer softwares (like sonar, cubase etc) has an adapter to enable other format to use in their product.

conclusion:
VSTi and DXi are plugins formats proposed by diferent company.

p/s: kalau aku salah tolong betulkan..

another way is using the find function, key in the vst/vsti name in the find/search dialog box.

Normally, it will ask where you want to install ( which folder to installed your VST/VSTI)
