actually dude. we started doing this because we had trouble finding our local indie music online! Most of the time.. we search the net thru google, yahoo.. and yeah found the band's website, but... it's with fancy graphics and broken links! not to mention the all favourite "this page is under construction" message on most of their pages.
So the goal was to build a place where band themselves can upload/manage their songs + having a few pages for telling people about them. Definately mp3.com kinda style but with a comfortable local environment
at first we kinda hoping the bands to upload just 1 song in HIFI or 2-3 songs in LOFI.. just so that people can get the idea on how they sounds like. so we gave out 5MB! tiny eh? this restriction is due to the fact that... we're just renting a small space on the server, and bandwidth is limited! After a while, we got good news from our provider about the bandwidth (which is now unlimited), we increased it to 8MB. so now the only restriction left is... the rented space. we'd love to give u guys more space but at the moment.. we just can't. However.. there's a plan of expansion. we are planning to purchase our own server (saving up at the moment ). if my car doesn't break down that often.. and my housemate pay his rent in full!!.. we might be able to get it in july/august (the earliest). Then it'll be a blast!
so that's basically the story dude. hope u guys can bear with us for a while...
Thanks for the brief write-up about i-bands. I really think this is a truly cool idea especially since mp3.com has gone bust. Hopefully your server might turn out to be the official mp3 site for the local Msian music scene.

I am here from Funender.com (similar site to this) and I just love these small communities that are springing up on the internet for listening and promoting indie music! The daze of the Big Music industrials are coming to an end!! Now is the time of the small guy with something to say and music to be heard!!! Rock on!!!!
