no, i just need a single-coil sized humbucker for my strat, not the usual humbucker pickup... i've compared soundclips from the SD website and hot rails is the best option so far.

zid aku cadangkan.. apa kata kalau ko bikin guitar squier ko tu kepada tema2 bersih, tak metal dan lebih versatile la. Barulah variety sikit.. guitar humbucker ko pun dah ada dah..
ko cari pickup2 vintage mcm standard fender je. Murah pun murah.. satu set 3 biji seymour duncan SSL1 tu kat bentley boleh dpt rm500 lebih kot. SOund mmg tak berat la.. ala2 eric johnson, jimi hendrix, eric clapton gitu..
mana la tau tiba2 taste ko berubah nanti, senang keja.. hehehe...

hehe bukan apa... kalau aku upgrade gitar ni jadi style vintage kang, takut gitar tu aku sangkut kat dinding je, tak main langsung! so membazir je la aku upgrade mahal2 tapi takde nafsu nak main... kalau install hot rails ni, at least teruja la jugak nak main walaupon rupa dia tak metal langsung! hehe
aku nak tukar pickup bridge je, yg lain maintain stock pickup.. so kalau nak main style pop ke, clean ke, lagu2 function ke, lagu2 raya ke, pakai la pickup middle / neck.. kalau nak full action metal - turn to bridge pickup!! baru la iron maiden - metal stratocaster!

dont worry zid...you're still relatively young to do metal, even though you're already a dad...i'm in my 30s+ already and i've always thought that by the time i turn 30 dulu, that was the end of my 'music' days...but i was wrong. Ever since i turned 30, i'm more active than ever! haha...tapi gue tak delah nampak cam 30+ sangat...so that's prob a blessing a bit.
tapi sayangnye member aku yg mat gitar dulu ramai dah gantung gitar...yg aku still contact siap pass tab booklah, gadget kat aku for free...hehe...and that is groovy!
still, i love to hear about guys who still dig guitars / music stuff in their 30s (Dr Bode - i salute you!) coz most of them are already a bit stable in terms of their finances and stuff, so dreaming for that RM6K gibson or whatever freakin instruments they desire for some of them is not a dream anymore...it's just within the reach of the...rrr.... swipe of the card...make sure guna 0% instalment free plan! OR pakai personal bank rakyat ok jugak kot...kekeke...
my fren just told me that some of his old boys from his old school (budak MCkk ler) bought an RM4K Godin guitar just for the sake of playing for a 'show' at the school reunion...giler best...
(so hope i'd reach that level is this company achieves the KPI and dapt ler the 6 mths bonus...=> alamak, macam ni perfromance keje lagi power ni. Korang tengok tv banyak2 kasi rating naik ok)
another thread somewhere here yg cerita pasal a 40 yr old still learning guitars and having to secret buy things from is wife is something gue respect...to that brader, you rock!
iron maiden is so very ol skool...so Strats make them what they are - seeing them using ibanez or ESP in their performances would be a bit weird...just got their mtv concert dvd held a few months back...smashing!

bro, aku ada discuss same subject dlm Ask The Doc forum. tak tau yr tone taste, tapi aku tengah usya DiMarzio Tone Zone-S - brand new RM400, ebay boleh dapat RM200+. it's a single coiled sized humbucker. |

$ tak akan cukup. bila dah kononnya stable 30s, nak buat studio plak... Finance Minister di rumah pula nak renovate pulak rumah. |

heheh true! aku blom masuk 30 and still tgh terumbang-ambing lagi ni haa.. dah le tu, aku baru je dpt kunci rumah baru aku kat Puncak Alam sana (jauh ya rabbi!)... wife aku plak dah berangan nak pasang kitchen cabinet, renovate itu ini... aku pening kepala bukan pasal apa, lepas ni aku dah takde peruntukan utk barang2 music la! hahah rentung!

izuan - aku memang tak mat blues...so jarang usha species2 berkaitan dgn blues ni...but i'll try to scout around. Eh, lu tu kat JB tu, S'pore dah dekat...apakata survey kat sana? (Last time I was there in 96 tengok concert Garbage…hehe…Shirley Manson I like!)
Ab - gue still early 30s...so lagi 2, 3 tahun boleh join lu punye group...hehe
Ab / deadzid - ...lupa lak bila ada ada wifey cum keluarga, dah ada different Finance Department, so duit kena invest on that...tapi takpe...janji lu orang budget wisely...boleh jalan sume kot....(easy for me to say huh??)
Money issue ni no stopping it seems - Aku baru tgh angkut condo sebijik...tapi tetiba dapat berita tadi aku kena top-up lagi RM2K for MRTA pulak...urgghhhhh! so aku rasa aku dah takleh mimpi upgrade gitar for now...haha. Makin nipislahj savings nak kahwin aku macam ni...hehe...Jgn kena jual gitar dah lah...
Then tadi nak manmbahkan kepapaan, kereta gua radiator buat hal pulak!!...ish...padan muka aku gak..orang suruh pakai protong...aku gatal tukar tu honda convert b18c vtec...hmm..more $$ to be flushed down the drain it seems (but what to do, vtec rules!! so terima je lah symptom dia seadanya)
actually aku rasa ok ada a few credit card, dgn syarat no liability in owning them (for e.g, use those with no annual fees). Tapi syaratnye jgn dok ler dok bawak sume card tu, bawak satu due dah ler, yg lain simpan dalam laci kat rumah, bila terdesak betul2 gune baru pakai...interest rate is 18% p.a...so kena jaga jaga!
i even got my old UK credit card active with the limit of 1,600 pounds +....fuhh...tu kalau aku swipe sekali angkut amp Marshall gedabak ke, multi track recorder yg baekk punye ke, or 2 biji Ibanez ori JS signature series, or upgrade ICE kereta ke, taruk exjos Type-R ke, or upgrade home theater set ke to 7.1, apa ke, then buat senyap je takmo bayor...sure mat salleh sana bosan kat aku and ban me from entering UK lepas tu...haha…so I guess I wud not do that i hope!!!
anyways, sorry melalut - this thread is cool...at least we're talking about REAL WORLD issues...the real story behind guitar playing! hehehe...
Btw – any of u guys going to the Guitar Camp in ASK this December? I’ve registered…saje je nak tambah ilmu selagi belum rasa tue sangat ni. |

hmmm aku pong dah 30++, dah beranak pinak lagi, tapi baru beli gitar letrik awal taun ni.. actually belajar main dah lama tapi main bodo2 je.. late last year baru terpikir nak take a serious hobby.. cheap hobby.. golf was expensive.. in which later I found out guitar is not cheap either..
Kelakar semalam.. kat muzik@ria (Yasmin Hani wachaa... slrrruuupppp), ada tunjuk budak pompuan main gitar.. baru 17 yrs old.. baru 3-4 taun belajar main gitar.. finger picking mantap.. bini aku terus tak kasik can kutuk aku.. dah main bertaun pong asik2 main intro kejora je.. lain hampas.. ha ha ha
senyap2 aku naik atas terus practise.. malu sehh..
BTW.. abang yang "40 yr old still learning guitars and having to secret buy things from is wife is something gue respect" tu rasanya aku kenal.. dia pong salah satu sumber inspirasi for dismissing this "you're too old for this" mental block...
Yang penting.. sendiri enjoy.. walaupun tau main intro kejora je sampai bila2...
