but onemore thing i forgot to add..
future tense and present tense can be the same.
its how u use your sentence structure.
But at least u can tell the difference between past and present tense because it does makes a huge difference.
Most miscommunication occur because of that. _________________ "Thus let my enemy's blood be spilled

The term migrate is correct in Totz context.
To improve your English:
a) Read more English books. Get a dictionary for the words you don't understand. Nowadays you can go to the web for online dictionaries with come with sound bytes for pronounciation.
b) Use the language. Don't worry if you get things wrong initially.
c) The best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in an environment where people speak it. Go backpacking in Australia or something. |

one of my students got scolding today. He came and complained to me.
It seems that the lecturer wrote H.O.N.E.Y
and my vietnamese student so confidently shouted, HORNY!
There are many things happening in this college, and they really crack me up.
Once, i went out for lunch with this girl from China at Sushi King.
We ordered our food, but i realised she was having an argument with the waitress for 5 minutes, and i asked what's the problem?
my student said she ordered "RATS" and the waitress kept insisting they don't serve rats.
i too agreed with the waitress and told her, they don't serve rats.
It took me a good long 10 minutes, until my student gave up and spoke the word in cantonese, Fan which pronounced as "RICE"
i laughed my head off _________________ "Thus let my enemy's blood be spilled

well...sometimes people from various accents speaking in a common language such as English will cause a havoc. Besides Huntress examples, I came across the following.....unfortunately I cannot remember everything in detail.
1. Once my Taiwanese pen-pal visited me and I took her to a fast food outlet. I think she was ordering a burger. She was talking to the guy at the counter for a long time for a burger. Eventually, I found out the guy could not understand her Taiwanese accent for a simple English word.
2. Once I talked to an American Hispanic friend over the phone. I had great difficulties telling her "car" and she had difficulties understanding me. Eventually I found out that she was so used to the "rrrr" of the word. I am sure u know what I mean when u listen to American talking on tv.
3. I tried to be a hero when I saw a Korean being scolded by a British at the currency exchange counter. I offered to help the Korean to prevent the misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I ended up confused as well while trying to communicate with the Korean. Luckily, another Korean who could speak in better English turned up to help.
4. A Chinese was scolded by a Malay at one of the ticket counter at a bird park/butterfly farm. The Chinese was speaking something which I also could not understand. I wished I could help but I could not and dared not due to incident number 3. Even my Taiwanese friend didn't dare to help because he had problem figuring out what the Chinese was speaking. |
