Dude! Heard your track, I love the songwriting and the 'epic' theme of the song! I like the direction where you are going and hope that you will find your required bandmates and put out a kickass CD soon. Thanks for the kind words about 'Shyboy'. Both 'Shyboy' and 'Moon' was recorded using a broken Tascam cassette 4-track. I've got other tracks as well on this website:

Bode... Tascam 4 track? You could have fooled everybody. Or maybe because your shredding distracts from everything else!! Well anyway we could all do with some recording tips from you.
I tracked about 15 tracks on 'Curse' and it still sounds 'solo'...
I saw your post about Sham Kamikaze guitar clinic. Are you going for Search reunion concert this Saturday? _________________ http://mindcontrolled.bravehost.com

saudara eynkarr,
terlebih dahulu sorry kalau BM saya terlampau buruk
Penyampaian? Recording? _________________ http://mindcontrolled.bravehost.com

Hi Erotomania,
I like your track "Curse of The Gypsy", the songwriting has loads and loads of room for improvement, but none the less I like the direction, although i wouldn't actually call it metal. No offence, its sounds more towards grunge ....i feel that the guitars could be a little heavier. Maybe a lower tuning, BEADGB..try it you might be pleasently surprised. The tone IMHO needs more balls to be called metal...yeah i think it just lack balls.
As for the drum programming, I completely understand your problem, because when i started out programming drums on a drum machine, it sounded exactly how you described, robotic, static...with not much dynamics going on. But may I recommend you to use Native Instruments Battery VST...which you can use to make realistic drum sounds. You can hear a demo of my work on my site here http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/60/
I am coming back to Malaysia at the end of this year...and am currently looking for musicians to collaborate with...since you are also into METAL!!!
Take care now

dear Ridzi,
thanks for your kind comments. To be honest I'm not big on cookie monster vocals or buzzsaw guitar that is typically associated with extreme metal, instead preferring to tread the melodic route, 80s style!
Some say 'gay' I say 'nay'
well it's hard to please everyone, even within the metal camp, but I'm certainly going to try to improve based on your input! With or without a band!
I also wish you the best of luck with your own band, and count on my support for your future endeavours! Thanks again... _________________ http://mindcontrolled.bravehost.com

Sorry for the late reply! No, I didnt go to the Search gig coz I had other engagements. You read the Sham Kamikaze's Clinic post? I was surprised that anybody actually read that at all, since currently the fashionable thing is to NOT be that good on the guitar, avoid guitar solos and avoid the vibrato altogether(fear of hurting your fingertips little boys? Get some real callouses man and yank that major third wide vibrato!).Seems that now, the guy who avoids soloing altogether is a rock star while the guy who can execute an arpeggio with great vibrato is sneered at as a 'dinosaur' or 'unfashionable'.
Back in the late 80's/early90's, even jazz/classical snobs are scared shit of rock guitarists in view of their virtuosity(thanks to the Vai/Satriani/Yngwie brigade). Sadly, now these same snobs just sneer a remark along the lines of "Oh...he is ONLY a rock guitarist"....sad..but true...
Dont get me wrong...I HATE songs which feature endless mindless soloing(which did plague the late 80's at one time...and..err...evident in my own performance of 'Shyboy'...he he...) and I do love alternative/hardcore/emo or whatever as well...damn I love jazz, classical and r&b too...but it would be nice to hear the occasional guitar solo which makes you pee in your pants once in a while in a great song...and what happened to the great macho rock guitar vibrato, which was once the domain of the rock guitarist and can only be dreamed of by jazz/classical guitarists? Scooped tone power chords ala Korn are cool...but all the way through a song without vibrato or solos for the whole album? How do we call ourselves Metal if playing just those power chords wont even hurt the gentlest ladylike fingertips?(Ok..ok..I'm just joking here...but still I got a point don't I?)
Let us all unite and bring Rock music the respect that it deserves and regain our throne!
Rock Hard Ride Free!!!
And please check out my music and give support to this whining, lamenting and near extinct ageing rocker! Here are the sites:

and more tunes to be found here:

Thanks in advance!

bode: though not quite in the same league I do wholeheartedly agree. Don't worry dude... people can say what they want... as long as you and the rest of the rock brigade know what it's about. BTW u should change the credit on shy boy to 'Sheehan/Vai' so as to get more listens!!
If you're free you should come over to
http://jamtank.com/forum
and link to your music on the bands section. There's much more traffic there. Maybe you could post a bit, there are more musicians such as yourself, and a couple great session players as well...
undefined: eh what happened with the IP? You're trialversion or something like that? No, man I don't have a band right now, which is what the post is for.. looking for band members! Sadly, everybody wants something... if you're nobody they're not interested! they only want in if you are already famous!
like they all wanna join popshuvit or something like that. Crazy man... I told off some guys... "if you're in, you're in for the long haul we got no prima donnas here!!" _________________ http://mindcontrolled.bravehost.com

yup.. i'm trialversion. yesterday i've check jamtank at cc and quite sad i've lost a lot of interesting thread in Jamtank Lounge . I'm quite suprise you are alone because from what i see in jamtank, you really know better about music generally .
FYI, poundcake (you recognize him in jamtank right?) also a big fan of queen, dio, aerosmith and all legendary rock bands. maybe you can ask him about having a project band and stuff.
i think we're both 'senior' in jamtank and maybe we can meet and chat.
btw, have u listen to my new song 'thank you'? |
