My sister was one of the lawyers who got arrested. She called her boss edwin to the station and they are suing back the police (as of recent development). She told me that the whole thing was not up to procedure and teh police were certainly abusing their power. Statements taken without letting you see the content, policemen without badges/names, no proper warrant, stupid corporals yes-men...
blah la lu polis... ingat semua orang bodoh tak reti undang2 ke? _________________ http://villainpaintball.blogspot.com/ |

together we unite..... the mark the police has given us for the unknown charges and for the things we did not do. _________________ "Thus let my enemy's blood be spilled

I didn't know about the raid until Fathul (from Infectious Maggots) called me the next morning. He thought I was arrested but in reality I was lazying around at home on new year eve...well actually I wasn't lazying around...I was duplicating 50 copies of Come Together compilation album.
I am impressed and proud of the people who gave the support during the press conference at Paul's Place. I could see multi-racial came together and unite to support - something that I think Barisan Nasional fails (all the parties are still based on race) Even 2 guys from Malaysian Idol was there to support - the rocker and the guy who sings like Rick Astley. Funnily, I approached the Malaysian Idol rocker thinking he's a friend of mine because he looked familiar. It took me almost 30 mins to recall who he was. Silly me!
Back to the main story. Since the incident, I am in the state of confusion about the fate of our scene. I wonder whether the authority is trying to "kill" the music and art industry like the dictators of Argentina in the 70s & 80s. I have doubt about the democracy of this country with this kind of incidents. This is not the first time. It has been going on for decades. Where is human right of this country? Where is democracy? The police seems to behave like gangsters these days - they do as they wish. When we really need them, they cannot even do their duties well.
Example 1: I heard lots of noise below my apartment's mamak stall. People were shouting around at 4-5am due to the soccer match. I called the police and I was told "biasalah" and refused to come.
Example 2: Witnesses were required to identify a thief. Guess how they were told to identify the criminal! The row of criminals were lined up. The witnesses were told to walk in front of them and pulled the criminal's shirt to identify the guy. Isn't police supposed to hide the identity of witnesses? What will happen if the criminal is a violent one? What if the criminal takes revenge upon released from the prison? What happened to the behind-the-window room? Eventually, an inspector even mentioned that that was an incorrect way for witnesses to identify criminals.
I understand that there are good cops in this country but overall I have lost my respect for them. To me they're not much better than any criminal.
For the time being, I am not sure of the fate of the compilation album I am working on. Refusal of record shops to stock it is a problem too. I am also not sure whether the gig I help a friend to organise on Feb 11 will go on - generally we're still quite "stubborn" that we want to proceed at Paul's Place. No matter how much I criticised Paul's Place in the past, I still think it's the best venue that is willing to allows any Tom, Dick and Harry (or rather Ali, Ah Chong and Muthu) to perform and spread their music. |

i shudv gone for the PC. Actually a bit exhausted penat coz dok layan Peter Pan the night before (i was really really in front of the stage) and ada bbq new year the night b4 that...so a bit penat
Also was waiting for some frens to call me up to the PC tapi depa lupa kot...tup tup tengok tv3 Buletin Utama, i saw 2 member aku (one is a human rights lawyer) yg jadi guest speakers for MHI and WHI dah keluar news tu, condemning the whole arrest and the whole BM exaggerated issue etc.
Nak raid pun boleh - but at least justify the cause ler...ni main bantai je...la ni hardcore pun dah jadi BM... |

The press conference is out in the papers that i have bought today.
i quote to u..
"They can lodge police reports and we will investigate them. If they want to sue us, then we can only wait.
-Cheif Assistant Commissioner, Dzuraidi Ibrahim (on the posibility on being sued)
FROM Malay Mail
as for Harian Metro who i recalled did not attend the press conference said
" Dakwaan pengunjung pesta muzik liar ala Black Metal di Jalan Kelang Lama, kelmarin KONONNYA mereka bebas daripada dadah dan gejala tidak sihat hanyalah "CAKAP KOSONG" apabalia lapan daripada mereka disahkan positif dadah"

I got there just in time to go to the police station with Irene...
I was just kinda pissed off when Ronnie said that the police were 'not happy' with the crowd that turned up outside the station. What do they expect?
*sigh*
