irene... LANGSUYR has never been a Black Metal band. You can check our history all the way since our existence in 1991.
I have put up this discussion at Metal Terus forum, to decide what definition fits best for the Malaysian BLACK METAL bands.
After we have decided, then I will post it here for you guys to print out in the flyers.

Since Malaysian BM bands are not like the ones overseas, then maybe our BM bands shld just invent another something something metal la..create another sub-genre based on the characteristics of BM, musically la....kan ke Metal tu punye la banyak evolusi nye..? they hv to really differentiate themselves..kok tidak sampai bila2 pun tak selesai mende ni kalu asik being compared dgn the overseas BM...

Firstly, wrt Langsuyr: I caught your set at RTW. F_cking awesome. Particularly when it rained torrents as soon as you got up on stage. F_cking evil ass (in a good way) shit. I wish my band could make it rain like that. Performance kicked ass as well. Tight band. Singer was like something out of FW Murnau's 1920's Nosferatu.
No matter what you call the genre, there will always be people critizing it due to a lack of understanding.
So it's up to you to educate them. Show them you're intelligent. And set an example that you're not drugged, goat worshipping idiots.
If you're young and live with your folks. Talk to them. Tell them what this is about and why you like it. |

Langsuyr, can I add u in my mailing list which consist of people working on the booklet? I would love to have you there because you're a true metal band (not necessary black metal). Your knowledge/information will be greatly appreciated by us.
Let's work together to get this booklet out. I'll send you an article I compile and write. I am not happy with the contents because I cannot write anything on the local scene - I don't have the knowledge. It will be good if you can write something |

totziens, what kinds of Metal that you want to compile? I just take the original texts from wikipedia and then edit it to fit the Malaysian bands. Yes, you may include me in your mailing list. I hope the booklet will be a success. More, if we can get it sponsored... CELCOM, MAXIS, DiGi (these brands are fighting for their share in the music scene).
