Hello guys, today i done some cabling and i want to share basic stuff on cabling and patch.
There are few types of connector out there that you need to know..
1. 1/4 inch TRS connector - This connector look like a normal guitar jack. The only different is it got 3 conductors. The TIP (hot) , RING (nutral), and SLEEVE (GROUND).. that's why it is call TRS. Sometimes they called it stereo jack because it transmit stereo signal but actually it is a balance connector. Balance cables is preferred for profesional used because it is not as subject to electrical intrference and can be used for long cable run without undue loss in signal to noise-ratio.
2. 1/4 inch TS - This connector look like a normal guitar jack. Got two conductor. The TIP (hot) and the SLEEVE (Ground). This is unbalance cables or mono cables.
3. XLR - This connector ussually connected to your microphones. Got 3 conductor and a balanced connectors. The connector got 3 pin which PIN 2 is Hot-TIP, PIN 3 - Nuetral- Sleeve and PIN 1 is ground or Sleeve.
it is cheaper to solder your own cables than buy. any mistakes pls betulkan..

There are four major process in music production.
1. Recording
2. Editing
3. Mixing
4. Mastering

saya tak paham bab mastering, cikgu... tolong explain! apa function sebenar utk mastering nih? Sbb aku release demo sebelum nih takde mastering pon... ke ada, tapi aku tak tau itu proses mastering nama nye.. hahaha...

herm, jgn ler panggil aku cikgu segan.. kita sama sama kongsi knowladge.. ader gak benda yg aku tak tau.. ok here goes..
Mastering
1. Untuk memastikan semua frequency spektrum recording korang dapat didengari di semua jenis player. So kalau ko main music ko kat tv ker, hi-fi ker semua dengar ok.
2. Untuk memastikan overall volume, e.q untuk semua track dalam cd/cassete sekata dan acceptable.
selain itu masa mastering ader beberapa benda yg perlu diambil perhatian.
1. phasing, balance or stereo imaging of each tracks
2. removes unwanted noise, glitches and dropout.
3. menambahkan signal tube samada simulated atau dari outboard gear ker dalam signal path.
4. dither and noise shapping
5. burning or bounce all tracks to cd with the correct track order, timing and fades.
semua ini aku belajari sendiri dari buku dan semasa training protools aku. so lepas nie aku akan post berapa technic mastering untuk home studio. takyah ler nak hantar L.A buat mastering.. sendiri pun boleh buek..

lizard, I'll create another article category and perhaps u can post it there also? this way u can post it by chapters and the topic will not get drown by the number of forum threads in the future. Just like what Omar did with his tutorials. organized.

Budak international tu dari mane? Sydney? London? Paris? New York? ke dari Bangla? Myanmar? Indon? hahaha... gagal la ini macam!
