My Fellowship Of The Strings,
After one too many nags I had from people (such as Irene aka Cik Bulan) who says 'why your song all so sad one?', I finally managed to get off my lazy arse and record a happy and fun rock n roll tune (to me at least). I know my playing not even half as good as u guys, so be nice to me ok.
Inspired by countless hours we spend at the mamak drinking teh tarik and gorging on nasi kandar and hanging out with our friends and loved ones;
Interferences by various sources of evil during recording (such as apek aiskrim's mat kool tune, mamak roti's bell, cute but annoying nephews n nieces); and
STILL recorded with the same old computer mike, here's "Lepak Mamak" (or At The Mamak's) >> http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/72/
What better way to start the new year than with a new song right?
HAPPY 2006; Peace, Love, Long life, n Rock n Roll! Enjoy the song and enjoy your curry fix! _________________ http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/72/music.php

Hey thx guys for listening (now i got like 4 people listening... yay!)
Jeff - Sorry kalo lagu ni lari dr expectation ko. Aku tahu ko tunggu lama beb. Ala skali skala kasi chance ler aku wat lagu hepi sket. Lg pun aku baru beli amp ngan repair gitar. Saja lps gian goreng lebih sket. Lagu acoustic tu ada cuma aku belum dpt idea nak develope. CD ko dh kuar ker?
Ery/Bode - Memang takder bass! Sbb... aku takder bass geeetar! Frust gak ler. Tp kalo ada pun aku rasa mike 12 hinggit aku tu mesti takleh tangkapnya bass byk2. Camna nk wat recording direct ke sound card ha?
Undefined - Psl reverb tu, aku still x jumpa lagi setting yg paling elok. Tgh tweak lg ni. Masa record lagu tu pun ntah baper kali dh aku adjust amp setting ngan mike position. Sampai lenguh tgn aku asyik rerecord jer... Nnt aku dgr lagu2 ko.. aku kt cc skang lecey aaa... hedfon bisu... thx 4 listening k _________________ http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/72/music.php

hehe ..ko tahu la kan aku ni memang dari dulu peminat ur particular brand of music..unexpected sikit la dengar lagu baru ko tu, bab aku ingat ko cakap pasa lagu2 ko yang half way done tu..so hampa sikit la.
i still listen to Jaivara and rainy nights, just so you know. Thats classic shit you wrote, even thought about playing it live on stage one of these days as a cover song...buat "tribute to Madhatter". hahaha..
cd aku tengah final stages ..tinggal vocals lagi, aku tengah nak cari vocal compressor due to the constant differing dynamic range between vocal passages on most of the songs. Skarang hancur siot..distorted gile..no amount of post-recording effects is gonna help that. |

Aiseyman terharunya aku... camni ko jadik groupie aku je lah Jeff! Aku pun still layan lagu2 ko. In fact aku arap 1 ari kita leh collaborate. Aku ada satu lagu tp aku xleh nyanyi so mungkin ko leh jadik guest artist aku.
Aku akan try siapkan lagu yg dh lama tertangguh tu, ntah bila nk siap. Letih beb kerja. Tp ko dh bg aku semangat. "Even if i can touch one soul with my song, that's enuff to keep me goin" - what a cliche huh. Now i know how that feels like.
1 lagi yg aku blaja, the best song recorded are stil the ones that is spontaneous. Too much planning would spoil the 'spirit' of the song. Both Rainy n Javairia were recorded with very minimal 'perfectionism' in mind yet those were the ones thats touch the most.
Can't wait to listen to ur full album. Aku tgh dl fwd view ngan finding time unplugged. Fwd view remaster ke rekod balik? Balik umah baru leh dgr _________________ http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/72/music.php

ahahah groupie enko...aku jadi tukang quality check groupie enko lagi bagus..hehe.
About perfectionism, sometimes its good, sometimes its bad..I know that Beck uses his scratch vocals for final recordings, rarely takes more than a single take for most of his songs, adn Megadeths Countdown album was written and recorded in 44 days...then again, Tool took an entire 2 years to write Lateralus constantly refining each song till they get what they percieve as being 'perfect'. All the above artists ROCK...so i guess there is no real guidelines of how to do it right. Kalau ko rasa dah sedap tu..ok ah tu..
anway ..balik kepada isu lagu madhatter, i'll answer that with ANOTHER cliche.
"You must do what you think is right, Luke..." |
