Peavey Pro Series bass amps
Peavey's three new Pro Series bass amplifiers feature up to 2,000 watts of power, extensive EQ options and switchable operation in Stereo, Mono, Bi-Amp and Full-Range/Sub modes.
The Pro 2000™, Pro 1200™ and Pro 800™ amplifiers feature dual preamps—one tube and one solid state—with pre-gain blend control for finding a unique mix of the distinct preamp tones. The amps' three-band EQ section with parametric mid enables you to incrementally adjust the frequency range (from 80 Hz to 4 kHz) and Q (wide to narrow) of the challenging mid frequencies, and also features shelving low and high EQ options.
A four-way mode switch on the Pro 2000 and Pro 1200 selects Stereo, Mono, Bi-Amp and Full-Range/Sub modes. When the amp is switched to Stereo, Bi-Amp or Full-Range/Sub modes, the Pro 2000 puts out 1,000 watts into 2 ohms per side (600 W on Pro 1200). When in Mono mode, it automatically bridges the two amps to create a massive 2,000-watt amp that drives 4 ohms (1,200 W on Pro 1200). In Bi-Amp mode, users can adjust the frequency distribution between two cabinets with the Balance control (left/low to right/high); the crossover frequency is adjustable from 100 Hz to 1 kHz. The Pro 800 amplifier operates in Mono only.
The Pro Series 2000, 1200 and 800 all feature a unique lightweight, universal switch-mode power supply that is compatible with worldwide voltages from 100 to 240 volts at either 50 or 60 Hz, reducing weight while making these amplifiers even more versatile. Additional features include DI, mute, input pad, master volume, thermally controlled two-speed fans and Peavey's exclusive DDT™ anti-clipping speaker protection.
The Trace Elliot 12-Band
British amplifier manufacturer Trace Elliot has announced its new U.S. product range for 2006, including three 12-Band bass amplifiers with intelligent Trace Elliot design and craftsmanship.
The Trace Elliot 12-Band range gives discerning bassists more power and more control over their sound. These amplifiers include six footswitchable features: Pre-Shape, the famous Trace Elliot tone-shaping tool; Valve to add tube warmth and overdrive (12AX7/ECC83); a vintage 12-band Trace Elliot graphic equalizer; dual-band compressor with separate controls for high and low bands; a sophisticated effects loop (high-pass/low-pass/full-range outputs, left/right/mono returns, series/parallel switch, loop level control); and an output mute that silences all outputs except the tuner out.
Other features include electronically balanced XLR DI outputs for pre-EQ and post-preamp left and right outputs, Celestion® loudspeakers (1215 and 1210 models), left and right line outputs, MOSFET technology and two valve/tube driver stages for signal pre-conditioning before the power stage. The stereo features are summed to mono in the power stage for the 1210 and 1215, whereas the AH1000-12 remains stereo through to its dual 500-watt power stages.
The Trace Elliot 1215 Combo, 1210 Combo and AH1000-12 Head will be available in Q2 2006 from authorized retailers.
