ESI announces release of first UG-1 package, USB JamMate UG-1 Electric Guitar Pack. UG-1 is an electric guitar with a USB connection that plugs right into your computer or laptop and powered by ESI's state of the art USB technology. The heart of the ESI USB technology is the USB Instrument Manager driver from ESI. This will also allow UG-1 play along with other USB instrument like bass and drum — simultaneous usage in the same host application is possible. A headphone amp is also built in for direct headphone connection and is supported by both PC and Mac. The JamMate UG-1 package includes UG-1 guitar and Amplitube Live amp simulator software for variety of guitar effects and amp modeling. Also included are the essentials for the beginners such as headphones, a gig bag, the USB cable, strings, a strap, and even picks. Very interesting, I suppose it's logical that manufacturers will design for the pc-user market now, so we can also expect more pc-based amp/effect modelling.
