I'm sure you guys are kinda expecting these responses from me, with me being a renegade from the 'rock kangkang' era...but interestingly I have heard similar opinions from other people who are not rock afficionados as well...
I personally think that the highlight of the show was Lefthanded/May/Wings' acoustic/rock/neo-classical medley of their hits with the orchestra. It just shows that even though they are considered as 'dinosaurs' and 'has beens' in the music scene, these old guys, with their big hair and all (which is being scoffed and laughed at by 'hip' and 'fashionable' young musicians of today), are accomplished, seasoned, real musicians and masters of their craft. Good to see my pal, Man Keedal being given the honour as the lead instrumentalist, which is a tribute to his status as Malaysia's 'Father of Shred'.
I just wished that more newer rock bands of today can live up to some of these guys' musical integrity and virtuosity (please don't get me wrong...I have witnessed newer young bands who scare the shit out of me with their virtuosity and own brand of new music...these, I would like to see more...!)
And that Anwar Zain and Ruth Sahanaya can sure sing...whoa man...
