me too.. me too man! Sblm nie tak berapa ramai yg post. Skarang nampak dah pick up sikit.

I totally agree with what Bode's said in his latest post. Same wavelength. Ada ker yg skil gila2 di anggap ketinggalan zaman... it's all about what is hip right now. Komersil betul!

Tapi aku kind of suka gak situasi skarang nie sbb yg tinggal adalah band yg betul2 stick to the real thing. Kalo glam/progressive rock naik balik pun, nanti byk sgt poser. At least org yg still stick ngan this kind of rock adalah org yg honest ngan apa yg dia minat.

Akhir kata, jom la ramai2 pi tengok School of Rock! haha!

Greetings...

Orait, first of all, aku nak introduce dulu. Aku baru je register kat sini, dan aku rasa forum ni best utk diteruskan bagi geng rock & metal! So selamat berkenalan (hehe dgn skema nye)...

Aku jugak ada register band aku dalam ni - Virus Sound dan baru gak upload satu lagu yg dah lama aku record tapi tak release2 lagi sampai sekarang... Aku tgh cari guitarist / bassist utk join band aku, so sapa berminat bole la try dengar material aku to get the idea of how the music direction will go.

Downlad kat http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/154/music.php

Material aku tu terlampau banyak part melody / harmony dan kurang (atau takde langsung) elemen heavy riff. Aku dah dengar Ridzi punya lagu and i need this kinda riffs into our songs! So amacam Ridzi? Nanti dah balik sini aku bole reserved kan tpt utk kau heheh...

Itu saja buat masa ni, thanx dan selamat mengomplen! Kalu bole, stick to this forum je la lagi senang kan? kan? kan?..

- DEADZID -

Welkam welkam deadzid. Aku tengah halfway mendl lagu ko... tight! Drum machine ke tu? jeles aku dengar bunyinya. Aku langsung tak reti nak program drum nie. Ko nyer rythm pun ok gak per... ridzi nyer riff ganazzz... leh bunuh org!

Kat mana ko nak taruk singing part tu? Biar instrumental pun ok gak aku rasa.

Boleh tak korang citer sikit camner cara korang buat home recording nie? Sbb sound korang mmg best. Aku setakat letak mic (comp) depan gitar pas tu record.. primitive gila! Pas tu adjust dlm software (aku guna cakewalk guitar track jer). Jeles betul dengar korang sumer main rock2 metal2 nie... nak kena repair amp cepat2 la nampak gayanya.

Enlightened me my bros!

Akakakaa...nanti hari isnin ni aku nak taruk lagi satu clip yang maha ganas... Aku pakai drum machine jugak. Aku pakai Cubase SX ngan NI Battery VST. Drum samples yang aku pakai is a multisampled, multi-velocity samples. Samples tu nama dia Drumkit from Hell daripada kompeni Toontrack. Battery tu di-trigger through MIDI in the Drum Editor dalam Cubase SX. Satu satu beat dia aku program.

Aku record guitar macam ni : Gitar (Lespaul ngan pickup EMG 81)/Schecter 7 String---> Line6 POD pro--->Behringer 2x31 EQ--->BBE Sonic Maximizer--->Computer. Sound dia tu takes time jugak la nak cari...mana buleh main belasah naikkan gain semata2!! Sound aku tu aku develop over a few years dah...

Kalau aku main live...aku selalunya pakai amplifier aku sebagai monitor aje..sebab aku tak suka gaduh ngan sound engineer. Mesti banyak antara korang ni selalu tak dengar bunyi gitar korang bila main live...betul tak??

BBE Sonic Max aku ade 2 output, dan sebab Line6 POD ade cabinet emulation , aku tak payah pakai microphone depan amplifier aku...aku terus je connectkan channnel BBE yang free tu kat mixing board sound engineer... Sound engineer pun senang hati sebab tak payah memain ngan microphone. Nak balance kan sound pun sonang!! hehehe. Bunyi yang terhasil pun adalah yang terclear dan terganas yang mungkin hehehe.

Deadzid,

aku dah dengar demo ko tu...fuh...aku memang suka... Twisted Evil METAL!!!!style ko macam In Flames pun ade...macam The Haunted pun ade... Aku memang minat style ko tu....you have a real good sense of melody...aku pulak lebih kepada rhythm...melody ni aku kureng skit!!!betul cakap ko...kalau kita boleh combine style ko ngan style aku mesti bergetah punya MUAHAHAHAHAHA...

Ridzi: When you program drums, do you do pattern programming or real time playing? So far all my songs I use real time playing into a sequencer...so that it sounds more human...in fact in the song 'Moon'...the drums speeds up towards the end of the song just like a real drummer...heh heh(that wasnt intentional laa..I played the drum parts without a click track pun....tak sabar nak get it on and record guitars)! At the same time your drum programming is very neat...and it works well for your music...kinda have that Mike Portnoy precision feel to it!
madhatter: Guitar sound...topic ni aku boleh tulis satu buku...seriously! Tapi secara ringkasan, aku record banyak cara. To me, especially for Rock music, nothing beats putting a mike in front of the speaker cone...a tried and tested way of doing it since the early days of rock and roll sampailah sekarang(Shyboy was recorded that way).To get the heaviest sound as possible, this is still the ultimate way. Tapi kalau aku main session kat studio, for the sake of nak save time(and selalu nyer sound yg di perlukan masa session tak lah terlalu heavy...) aku pakai speaker/cabinet simulation macam Ridzi juga. But the output tu aku masuk dalam a valve pre-amp or compressor utk 'warm' kan sound tu dulu before it goes to the hard disk...this way you add the power amp/speaker distortion element in the sound by using the valve pre-amp(these elements are missing when we go direct using cabinet simulation). Kalau live, I just do what the sound man wants...if he wants a direct feed to the mixer, I will give him the simulated output...if he wants to mike it up I let him mike up the speaker. But, I NEVER rely on the soundmand...so I will always make sure I'm loud enough for the venue WITHOUT the help of the PA system at all. Set up aku enable aku have TOTAL control of the volume....my amps ada dua level setting...loud and f*****g loud Very Happy On top of that aku ada Volume pedal to control the volume via midi lagi utk fine tuning volume masa main live. As a rule of thumb, if you are playing a hard rock/metal gig, the guitarist should be LOUDER than anyone else(Kalau tak caya dengar live albums ni: Gary Moore-We Want Moore, Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads-Tribute, Black Sabbath-Live Evil). Guitar dia org kuat nak mampus sampai tenggelam the whole band! Heh heh! Aku pernah main live kat club and the soundman tu rasa aku too loud, sampai dia shut off aku punyer channel on the mixer, tapi aku tetap louder than anyone else juga! he he! Tapi kalau korang masa main session utk Ning Baizura jangan la buat macam ni ok? Sure kena buang keje punyer!

DEADZID...aku suka Virus Sound! Keep up the good work!

btw I've heard the Predicate songs posted so far... I appreciate the non-linear approach (progressive?) you've taken to the METAL!!! Am I wrong to say that this track has toned down a bit from your previous tracks.

everyone: hihihi wow so many posts all of a sudden? Don't get me wrong rockers... I'm not saying this forum or that forum is better... what do I care? Razz Just a tip to other ppl with music here that they can link to elsewhere for a wider (local) audience....

erotomania dude, i hav to agree with u on the part where they all want to be in a band with name

eh heh... don't sweat it dude... I donno nuts about any forum 'wars' going on... Question

I get a lot of guys, 19-20 yr old punks, coming in and wanting to change my band name (!) , change the lyrics and crazy @ss stunts like that. They wanna know what's in it for them. Newsflash: I don't promise anybody bupkiss!! These guys are under the impression they're gonna be the next Blink 182 or Linkin Park or whatever trash they watch on MTV these days.
They're only interested if you're PopShuvit or Butterfingers. Get real man..those bands aren't recruiting are they? they want the fame and glory overnight. They wanna record an album tomorrow. WTF?

It doesn't matter to me if a singer is hot sh*t or not. At least have the enthusiasm to come in for practice... work out some parts, you know.. not just focus on the poser aspect. There's like a 0.0001% chance we'll ever make it as a 'famous' band I can tell anybody flat out right now...

jeez man Rolling Eyes

madhatter:
Actually lagu tu pakai sound drum midi yg aku program dengan software http://guitar-pro.com. Tentang singing part tu, vocalist aku pun pening, tak tau nak nyanyi kat part mana! Hahaha...

Ridzi:
Bila kau mentioned The Haunted baru aku perasan elemen tu dalam riff lagu kau. Totally heavy shit, man! Kau ni mesti boleh buat downstroke picking yang sangat pantas macam neraka, betul tak?! Anyway, i'll be writting some more heavy tunes sementara tunggu kau balik sini. Await for the virus outbreak!

undefined:
So you're lefthanded too? Cool man! Susunan strings macam mana? Tali 6 kat bawah (macam Man Kidal) atau kat atas (standard lefthand)? Susunan aku - tali 6 kat bawah, so aku kene korek nut gitar tu sikit. Kau pakai gitar apa? It ain't easy being a lefty since there's not many lefthand guitars around! BC Rich tu aku beli kat DoReMi, RM 1300, year 2002.

General:
Thanx all for your comments! Tunggu la material kami yg akan datang. Sini aku ada satu technical question. Baru-baru ni aku ada tukar strings sebab nak guna low B tune. Berikut adalah gauge tali yg aku gunakan:

6th string : .056 - B
5th string : .042 - E
4th string : .032 - A
3rd string : .024 - D
2nd string : .016 - F#
1st string : .011 - B

The problem is: Bila main kat 6th string with distortion, sound dia agak pecah dan ada sikit buzzing sound!

So how do we cater this problem?
Ada tak special distortion / pedal / efx yg dikeluarkan khas untuk low tune atau baritones?
Ibanez ada keluarkan pedal "7th Heaven", adakah itu solution dia?

That's all for now!
