Dirtwash - Machines
Wow very good....I like the vocals....reminds me of Thom York of Radiohead....
Anyway just a word of advice....you might want to take the vocal levels down a bit... The vocals are too loud in the mix!!!! I also noticed that when the vocals hit the higer notes the volume decreases... try applying some compression to the vocals to bring up the quieter bits - basically you want to normalize the vocals a little.
The backing music is good...very good mix.....good melancholic feel to the song. I like the chord progressions...the synth pad in the background really adds to the atmospherics.
Well done!!!!! |

I dont think the vocals need Eq'ing anymore...it sounds good as it is.
But if i were you i would re-record the vocals where he hits the high notes because you can hear he goes quiet on those parts..
i dont think it really needs compression really, seeing that the vocals are fine on the other parts....its just when he hits the high notes needs to be re-recorded because it's inaudible

eish.....i wish i can record balik..but the vocal dah blah..not around
i tried to compress to even out the level....brought up the noise...
i guess normalize also will bring the same problem...rite? |

Whoa...that's some cool trippy music there...a very exciting experimental 70's vibe which is so lacking in many bands nowadays...much respect for you guys!
Believe in your music and keep churning cool tunes like these here! |

heh!
glad u like it....
he's "the" vocalist( duh... )...
i'll try to get him in here...
and ur guess are right...he's really in to radiohead and probally influence from there . . . he's the more experimental source in the band. . . |

Well, after much contemplating and thought; and without much resources, we managed (hardly with any effort) to dig up a real corpse in the dirtwash recordings, a very raw (and full of mistakes, but all in all done and had good fun) 'A Perfect Drug', a cover of NIN.
Enjoy,
Regards..

Thanks man , we would love to do some gigs but most unfortunately
1) We're too far away from each other (drummer's in kl and the rest in taiping)
2) Don't really know anyone who would want us to play/ can't find gigs to play in.....
Well, i guess mayb in due time...
