David, for the type of sound that you're looking for. I'd say go for the Laney. I believe that they are more versatile.
Go look for videos of Michael Angelo Batio on Youtube.com for a taste of Randall amps. From Batio's setting at least, they sound a bit glassy. I'm bad with tone jargons but one thing's for sure, I don't fancy Randalls. Just a thought. |

If you wanna up the ante a bit David, poach around for a Peavey Classic or Fender Blues Jr. (both tube amps). You might get lucky and score a second hand one.
Their gain may not be as ballsy for your type of music but with a booster pedal in between, any tone is possible. And they're super loud too. |

who distributes Randall here aa?
Randall not so expensive? are u sure?
i'm a Peavey freak, but i'm not sure you can get a decent one within that budget range... the Bandit 112 costs about RM2k more or less.. _________________ > facebook

not really sure about that but someone said.. the price compare to Marshall.. is quite a difference.
I haven't checked about it but I think budget really limits me to the Laney HCM65R at the moment ....
