Ever since i saw the first advert on perfect pitch 10 years ago in some guitar mag, i've been really2 curious over this method. ALmaklumlah...gua ni tone deaf sikit actually...haha...
So wanna know if anybody has more ideas on what this thing is, what the course comprise etcm, and whether it really works....and if does...anywhere i could get it in malaysia??
teruja betul aku baca all the success stories...
http://www.perfectpitch.com/success.htm
so i think gila best kalau tahu note2 lagu by just hearing it...but dunno if this ability is really a good thing or not.
maybe our specialist Dr bode would like to give some insight on this? or sapa2 yg tahu?
cheers |

aku pun ade baca dulu, kat guitar technique mag tak silap.
ada course yg membantu utk musician mendapatkan 'perfect pitch'.
ramai yg jgk yg berjaya dpt perfect pitch tu lepas follow course tu..
tak silap dia sediakan dlm bentuk kaset dan CD utk buyer ikut instruction dia.
yg ada perfect pitch tu,semua mengaitkan setiap note tu dgn 'warna'.
setiap note tu ada character tersendiri yg diorng panggil 'colour'.
diorg recognize setiap note tu dgn colour tersebut.
tak taula kalau yg tone def ni boleh dpt 'perfect pitch',tapi aku yakin telinga kita sentiasa boleh di improve kan. so,tryla klo nak.
ada artikel yg aku baca dulu, kebanyakan musician yg ada perfect pitch ni, biasanya adalah mereka yg mendengar music classical sejak dari kecik lagi. kira pendedahan sejak awallah. contoh malmsteen laa.
kt M'sia ni yg aku tau,Genevie Kam tu,yg adik beradik Imam tu.. ( kt ASK tu,hanafie imam ke ape ntah) yg si Ritz tu hampir perfect pitch kot psl dia cari lagu tak pakai gitar.dia dengar je pastu dah boleh jamming. lagi...tak taula. rasanya kena minta DR BODE jgk utk cerita perfect pitch ni.
DR BODE!!! mana kamu. |

i presume dr bode might know something since he specialises on the auditory part of our senses...betul tak?
so maybe he might give his medical insight on whether this ability is something that we could nurture...or not... |

Dulu aku ader sorang kawan yang kira hampir perfect pitch.
Sebenarnya diorang ne kalo kita ketuk gelas pun dia boleh tahu tu note aper. Disebabkan dia memang perfect pitch so tak pernah sebenarnya aku tuning instrument guna tuner. Biasa dia akn tunekan semua guitar even drum pun dia nak spesific note. If dia dengar solo biasanya ia kuar dalam bentuk note lah plak.
Tapi kalo carik lagu pakai guitar, bagi aku tu belom perfect pitch la maksudnya. Kecuali la bila dengar lagu without any instrument dia boleh tulis note tu satu persatu atas kertas. Biasa belajar keyboard mesti ader cover ne rasanya. Every body pun carik lagu dengan guitar, cam biasa carik key dulu then lebih kurang jer note dalam scaling tu. Cuma exprence jer membezakan dari sorang ker sorang.
Aku pernah bertanya how dia boleh know the note.
- kawan aku kata sebanrnya dia mulakan dengan mengenal satu note katalah C. then from C dia cuba kenal note lain guna DO re me fa so la yang betul. Then if the pitch tu antara RE n ME, so dia tau pitch tu D#. Lebih kurang cam tu lah. Tapi aku still can't get it... hahahhaah

my opinion on perfect pitch..
i don't believe there is such thing as 100% perfect pitch ...
even if he is a classical virtouso or what..
out of 1000 attempts ..maybe 200 times he will be lucky to get that pitch..
take your guitar tuner and try to sing an "E"..the chances of getting it right on the spot is like striking a lottery
however i do believe in relative pitch .which is something like hearing an "E" first(as reference) and being able to sing out "A" perfectly _________________ gapnap.com

Aku tengah amek kelas songwriting sekarang ni and instructor aku tengah ajar bab chord changer sekarang ni. And cara dia test students is by playing a progression pastu dia suruh teka apa progression tu, in class.
Payah macam haram. Aku pernah amek kuiz skali tu ada a few yang betul. Yang senang la macam I vi V IV. Yang lain berterabur. 10% ke berapa tah markah aku.
Hence membuktikan pitch telinga aku lemah nak mampos. Nak kena ada gitar baru bleh cam chord changes etc.
Tapi memang ramai yang 'nearly' perfect pitch kat luar sana. Ada yang bunyi orang bersin pun dia buleh tahu note apa... |

Perfect pitch... The best way, korang hafal bunyi note dengan piano. Tekan key die dan hafal sound die dalam kepala. Like the failing subject I'm taking right now, kitorang disuruh supaya kita "solfege" satu scale tu bagi menyenangkan penghafalan note, chords atau interval. Lets take C Major scale; C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C (no # or b) yang equivalent kepada Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do, dan kita nyanyikan do re mi ni dengan scale C major tadi. Jika note ditekan D, kite nyanyilah Re mengikut pitch note ditekan. Ianya seperti tuning suara mengikut piano. Dengan menyanyi "solfege" ni dalam pitch yang betul membuat kita senang hafal bunyi tu.
How'd I wish I could pass this subject this semester, but I just have no time to practice. I could only know pitch in C major scale, and out of C major I can't.
P/S: Zink, kalo kaw masuk FCM bulan 7 nanti, bukan tu je yg ade dalam ear training... Two part rhythm pon ade, kire kaw kene sight read percussion sheet tu sambil ketok2 meja di depan si Farid Yahya tu... |
