i don't know...
to me the more record sale you made, the more people listened to your stuff...
the more people listened to your stuff, the more people like wahtever things that you're doing...
that means people like your music and you as the musician...

problem with shredder is, they are too focussed on techniques and theory...
in real world, most people never gave a second thought on those but more towards music...
music in the first place was never about techniques and theory, but more towards how you deliver your feelings and people menage to understand it...

well for me,your opinions are very based on mainstream, selling albums and such which isn't really my thing.respect your opinion though.cheers Smile

In the end, it's best to nail both.

There's nothing like listening to a guitarist speak, scream and cry on the guitar and milk a note for all it's worth to the last drop, and suddenly at certain parts, play something so fast and mind-boggling that you dunno what the hell he did...

So Min...do whatever I told you to do in my first post in this thread to 'unshred' yourself, but at the same time, keep on practicing the shred stuff to insane levels.

Hi guys,

thx for all the wonderful and interesting ideas and comments.....really very educational and brainstorming.

i would certainly look into those ideas.....

maybe after this i would just sit down and play 10 notes per minute....but seriously i would try to incorporate all of your ideas for improvement to my crap playing.....

thx alot....

Very Happy yup...i certainly had (or maybe still?) gone thru this phase Min... tanya la the Doc..

i guess it's like having a conversation/talking. sometimes you wanna shout & scream .. sometimes you just want to take it slow & easy. Kelab toastmaster yang teaches presentation skills always advice that in order to be effective you must have all these contrasting oratory skills and know when to use them. Yelling your heart out all the time may not necessarily catch the audience by their balls Wink

in the end i found out that what's best is to play your heart out... and play 'em well, shred or otherwise. cliche indeed, huh!

i took a huge dose of 'non-guitar in the spotlight' kindof music in addition to the shred-masters CDs in my collection, hoping "things" would balance out. maybe it may work with u.?

good luck! but don't lose those shreds dude!!! Twisted Evil
