haha... i'm really into purple rain although i'm born after the prince era.. and most of my friends thing i'm weird.. but he's a great artist.. and yes, he is underrated... sadly..

Prince has written some of the best songs for other artists. I think he's an excellent song writer comparing to Michael Jackson or any of his peers.

yea, ive always had this mental note to learn to play the intro to doves cry, since 15 years ago...which i sadly never gotten to do. I can say that, to me, the 10 second intro solo is much more interesting than the entire crap album of a lot of current 'musicians'. |

Yeah, I forgot the female si botak's Nothing Compares 2 U.
I love the guitar intro of When Doves Cry too. That's the main reason I associate Prince with Jimi Hendrix... |

there's the simple way playing this doc.. stating with Asus i think.. hey doc, why dont u come out with ur version of purple rain.. hehe..
manic monday.. i remember that.. when i was in states my mum feed me with lots of mtv.. i probably was 7.. i heard bangles.. walk like and egyption.. and does anybody remember "howard.. the duck..." tune?
with the technology nowdays ( particularly illegal's one) , i'm starting to collect lots of the 80's pop vids and song.. starting from genesis, bangles, prince, whitesnake, van halen, journey, men at work ( i just love this one - who can it be) and much much more... ho ho ho..

I was 10 when I watched "Purple Rain"...I was hypnotized by his songs and performance. I knew from that moment, when I grow up I want to become like PRINCE! so NAIVE!
"When Doves Cry" (one of his many great songs) what and INCREDIBLE tune..."look mom, no bass" production and vocal arrangements. Guitar SOLO!WOW |

haha..aku memang peminat prince..masa dia kluar dulu tak berapa sangat
sebab imej dia mewakili dua alam...dan aku pernah keliru dengan
label rock artist...sebab aku tak nampak dia ni rock pun..(masa tula).
aku start serius pada muzik prince 5 tahun lepas..aku cari balik apa sahaja
cd dia yang masih ada dalam market, cd yang pernah member & awek aku beli..(tradela dengan album artis yg tengah popular ketika tu..)
so..dalam tempuh pengumpulan tu..aku dapat cd:
1) prince - greatest hits vol 1
2) prince - old friend 4 sale
3) prince - gravity bridge
4) Prince - rave
5) Prince - diamond & pearls
6) Prince - emancipation (vol 1/2/3)
7) Prince - musicology
 Prince - 3112
vcd & dvd yg aku dapat untuk simpan untuk rujukan dan study lagu prince
1) prince live at aladdin las vegas (dvd)
2) prince rave un2year 2000 (vcd)
3) prince greatest hits The video (dvd)
dan aku downloard apa aje video & concertclip yg ada dalam internet.
artikel yg dalam simpanan aku ialah dari guitar world & guitar player.
walaupun dua buah mags ni pakai cover prince tapi dia orang tak
dapat interview dia xclusively...sebaliknya sessionist dia (dua gitarist)
yang cerita how prince bekerja,guitar rig etc..etc
Siapa itu prince?
bio..tak payah aku tulis sini..sebab boleh tengok website.
Yang pasti, prince mcm frank zappa..dia ni suka tulis lagu, jamming
dan record apa sahaja idea..almost evryday!
apayng hebatnye Prince?
rujukan music dia besar...sebab itu lagu dia meliputi banyak genre.
yg hebatnya...dia ada teknik dan range vokal yang pelbagai..
inilah letaknya kehebatan beliau...selain boleh menari lebihkurang mcm james brown, piano bawah tiga tingkat dari elton john & main gitar 3 langkah belakang dari jimi hendrix.

Zaman meletup/gemilang/tenggelam
Purple rain meletup..bukan hanya bergantung pada lagu-lagu yg memang best, catchy...radio friendly namun juga banyak dibantu dengan kebijaksanaan prince membuat pelbagai kontroversi ...rasanya kau org semua tahu...tak payah citer lebih.
Bila movie sambungan purple rain keluar (title lupa)dan org tidak lagi pedulikan dia, Prince pula tetap semakin demand , label (warner bros.)pulak tak mahu invest guna budget besar @ layan karenah dia.
Prince keluar, buat label sendiri dengan memperkenalkan diri sebagai the symbol atau ..the artist formely known as....(ia semua bagi tujuan memisahkan pembahagian royalty & hakcipta)
ketika inilah prince keluar dgn album dengan music lebih avant garde..ada yang hancus ada yg best dan bermutu tahap cipan tapi tidak dipedulikan kecuali kepada mereka yg setia dengan music dan ideology prince
album musicology mengembalikan prince dimata dunia ...setelah dia menggunakan kembali nama asal..dan album tu memang best!
But, latest album prince balik menggunakan programming dan berimejkan dance music dan album ni agak kurang sikit penerimaannya sebab sekranag ni zaman timberland!
ok..so..pada yg baru nak layan prince...kena layan slowly sebab banyak lagu dia kena ambik masa untuk rasa bestnya...namun begitu kalu muzik prince digunakan sebagai rujukan tambah ilmu penciptaan lagu gred A+, anda berada diatas landasan yg betul sebab prince boleh mem phd kan
kefahaman anda kepada asas irama & melodi jenis r n b, soul, blues, pop, latin, jazz , rock, new jack swing, hip hop, country, euro pop, arabic , modern romantic , opera..etc,etc,( kecuali keroncong, inang,zapin,joget,dangdut) ...
