I saw a post from Ridzi displaying his home setup. I'm also planning to do my own budget setup so I'd really interested to know what's everybody else's setup so I can have sorta like a reference.

So if u guys don't mind sharing.. post away! Wink

This is my studio setup

PC - AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 512mb DDRAM with 400Gb SCSI disk space, SBlaster Platinum 5.1 with Live DriveII. Yamaha Studio Reference Speakers.

Software - Cubase SX 2.0 with hundreds of VST instruments, , Cool Edit Pro 2.0, T-Racks. Toontrack Drumkit From Hell, Reason 2.5, Rebirth. Native Instruments Absynth 2.0

Hardware - Behringer 2x31 EQ, Behringer 5 band parametric EQ, MesaBoogie Triaxis guitar preamp, POD Pro 2.0, home made patch-bay.(all of these are in a rackmount).

Guitars - Schecter C7 Diamond Series 7 String guitar, Epiphone Les Paul Special II modified with an EMG-81 pickup. Aria Pro Magna Series 5 String bass guitar, Yamaha acoustic-electric guitar.

Keyboard - an old Yamaha 88 key MIDI keyboard (i connect this to my PC to control/program Absynth and Reason)

An old Yamaha 8 channel mixer.

Backline equipment - Whirlwind noise-free cables (i swear by this brand!), Marshall 1960A 4x12 cabinet, Hughes & Kettner Attax-100 120W combo amplifier (i disconnect the internal speaker to power the Marshall cab in stereo mode, the amp has two 60W outputs when i play live)

Thats my setup.

Fuaa... ganazz gile setup ko Ridzi... Aku punya tersangat laa simple!
Masa recording utk Crimson Fall dulu, aku guna :

Equipment:
Gitar Squier Stratocaster (Mexican)
Zoom 3030 efx processor (model lama - discontinued)
15 Watts Squier amp

PC:
Pentium II 400Mhz, 128 MB SD-RAM, Yamaha TerraSound 128-bit soundcard.

Software:
Guitar-Pro 2.20 - to generate midi drums and keyboard efx
Sound Forge - for recording and other efx (reverb, delay, chorus, etc)
Vegas Pro - as a multi-track mixer

Chain:
Gitar -> Zoom 3030 -> Amp -> line-in soundcard.

Sangat tak profesional utk record lagu metal! hahahaha... Tak kisah la janji save budget.

aku pun recording low budget...

pc
Dell Dimension something 2.4 Ghz with 256 MB and some built in sound card..

software
sonar 2.0 (w/ addons such as reverb delay n stuff ) , fruityloops (sometime i use this to create some stupid techno sound )

Bunch of guitars - 2 ibanez , 1 Hamer , 1 Kramer.some cheap kramer 4 string bass..and 1 yamaha classical guitar..

Tama Drumset with Pacific Double Pedal and sabian / zdiljian cymbals

Bunch of uni-directional mics ( 5 piece nady drum mic sets) for miking my drumset..need to get a decent condenser and atleast sm 57 / 58

a behringer 8 channel mixer i think... (line in terus pada soundcard) with four XLR / phanton power etc..

that's it i guess..oh ya a one cheap yamaha keyboard and among all things a set of tabla! so i can make my own dangdut song..

Still on POD 1.4?? Ayoyo!! Shocked ... Why dont you send Line6 an email? They will send you a POD 2.1 upgrade EEPROM for free!! But you will have to send your old one back once you get your new one so they can reprogramme that one and give it to someone else...

There is a drastic improvement in patch changing (none of that split second latency when you change patches) and also better amp and cab simulation...

Here is the email address of the nice chap that sent me the upgrade EEPROM. Ask him nicely and he may just post it all the way to Malaysia!!

Hi ridzi Very Happy

I've been using that trusty red bean of mine since october 1999 and still use it every now and again.
n e way..thanks for the info.I didnt know that Line6 had such policy and ive been in the 'podforum' eversince i bought my pod.I cudnt recall the forumites talking about the free eeprom swap. But i do recall that,if u bought the pod at certain period of time right b4 the upgrade,u can get that free upgrade.MAybe it was not advertised widely for cost saving purposes i suppose.
Just so u knoe,I also got IK multimedia amlpitube plugin(full version),therefore once my budget allows me to purchase a pro soundcard,i'll use amplitube for recording. So maybe thats the reason i dun upgrade my eeprom.I will keep the POD.Had great 4 years relationship with it.(u knoe how POD rules kan???) Wink

whoa! thanks for the reply guys!

suicide-by-overdrive : Check out M-Audio Delta 66.

I'm thinking of getting one of the Delta series as well especially the 66. I heard that it works well with Cubase.

yup.delta 44/66 are right under my purchase list. But i have to hold on first since the firewire 410 has also come into the show.need to do some serius homework regarding firewireaudio vs PCI audio.

BTW-if u r not in the knoe,u can buy m-audio products at sinamex kat starhill. There is 1 more unit of delta44 left & selling around rm1k or so.

I think,as long as u dun use motherboards with VIA chipsets...u'll do fine with the delta series.

nice to meet you grymlock Very Happy
