it's one fine movie but as usual, some flaws ruined it a bit (esp on the lip synching part)...but with finer execution it could have been one helluva cult movie...

I agree with u too. It brought smiles to me although I had never dressed like them but saw many of those mat rock those days in Pertama Complex and even small towns such as Kangar and Alor Setar. Those smalltowns remain a metal territories till today. Well, I still remember those type of rockers staring at me at Pertama Complex when they spotted a clean-cut specky college kid (me) wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt hunting for death metal cassettes during those days. I think they must be thinking, "Who on earth is this nerd?" .....I guess I shocked them by digging for death metal stuff instead of Bon Jovi or Bryan Adams.
I guess I switched channels too often making me missed a lot of scenes.
Frankly speaking, as a non-Malay I rarely check out post-P. Ramlee Malay movies. I did purchase Paloh and Leftenan Adnan original VCDs though. Well, I gave the Chinese salesperson a shock. She actually asked me, "Are you watching these Malay movies? Are you sure you want to buy them?"
I guess I am unpredictible....always giving people surprises...hahaha |

penyampaian dia kurang menyerlah..
guitarist dia punya expression tak feel..
rambut nampak sangat palsu..
ending cerita aku tak paham (tak dengar apa narrator tu cakap)..
scene burung 3D tu mcm gampang.
drummer Malaikat Maut tu je la yg nampak real skit..
and the whole lineup of MM mmg musician except vocalist (zul kapan)
cerita ni kisah pasal budak2 rockers zaman 80's..
so patut hire real musician utk jd pelakon tambahan tu..
sbb yg excited nak tgk of course la budak2 rock..
compare dgn cerita mat saleh Rock Star tu..
line-up bands tu mostly musicians:
- zakk wylde
- ex-bassist Dokken
- anak drummer Led Zeppelin
- drummer Slaughter
- vox Third Eye Blind
- etc..
kesungguhan takde.. jalan cerita? hmmpp..

i remember in 1991 when i was in form 2.. dah le badan aku ni mmg kecik, muka cute ala2 nerd je.. pi cari tape2 death metal kat Kotaraya / Komtar JB.. brader kedai kaset cakap "wahh adik ni kecik lagi dah dgr lagu2 mcm ni? best ke?"
heheh chiss.. dia ingat aku belom baligh lagi kot?

idea ni memang bernas...problem dia Msia movie budget around RM one million je...cerita Hollywood simple macam Rockstar tu budget at least USD10 million (+- RM35 juta) kot...haha...tu beza RM30 juta tu...
kalau cite Rock malaysia dapatler budget RM30 juta...perghh...kalau tak gempaq memang fail ler director kita...
so budget factor aje would sometimes determine a movie punye 'quality'
so tu yg Hollywood tu depa tarak hal nak hire zakk wylde and all the freakin great true musicians tu...
aku rasa cerita Rock tu depa dah audition musician...tapi maybe musician kayu tak reti berlakon kot...so terpaksalah still rely on actor2 kita yg ada.
cerita Hindustan lagi macam gampang...scene main gitar, actors depa pegang gitar pun tak betul, still box office! memang confuse aku
tapi aku respek cerita indon Garasi...they really made the effort to find true musicians to lead the film...malangnye filem ni kurang boleh jual kat Indon and Msia pasal pelakon2 music ni sume muka baru...so sapa nak tgk muka2 baru ni
the dilemma in film making
btw - cerita Salon aku join dulu...scene band main live tu...tarak tipu punye...ada scene diaalog aku kena cut...pasal gua acting macam kayu...haha
moral of the story - we musicians should go for acting classes! haha |

aku still ada dalam filem tu...scene dialog je tak menjadi...jadi background...ada ler keluar 10 saat kot kat background. Gua jadi gitaris band Zack x-factor (alah, mamat yg cerita Astro Idaman tu. Dia ni joker. Main gitar pun ok gak siot...maybe coz he's sarawakian)
Scene dialog patutunye aku tu panggil si Zach ni keluar toilet pasal band dah nak start main...aku buat ler tapi tiba2 depa cakap tak nak pakai scene tu...surely pasal gua acting kayu...haha
the whole shoot was done at Bar Savanh Jln Doraisamy...terasa rock start aku hari tu...kekeke...
but it was one great experience.
Shooting dari noontime sampai malam...hasilnye on screen 10 saat...berbaloi tak? aku pasal lead actress tu sume hot babes (Jojo and RAja Farah) , memang berbaloi! haha
my advice - kalau korang ada peluang utk berlakon ke, jadi extra pun cukup, grab it...it's one helluva fun experience! Tapi cari ler film yg ok ok...
now who has 30 million and a brilliant script? let's do another rock n roll movie! |

i have watched the movie "man laksa".
the quality of the picture and lighting was awsome for a local movie.
the colours were alive, unlike most local movies
skali ngn dgn costume nya (movie was set in the 60's)
but slack the storyline, terasa slow and not very strong of a story line
in other words mcm gampang la...
but was good for a nights laugh.
tp bajet cite tu aku x tau la...

one week? probably....haha
nasib baik pakai HD camera. kalau shoot pakai film (reel)...a few rolls would be used and that would cost a lot!
but i i think i was in more than 10 seconds lah...maybe in total one or two minutes kot...hehe...janji fun! |
