Asalnya samtriggy ni orang panggil Sham LR. Sham ni pada mulanya belajar piano, lepas tu dia apply skill dia kat gitar, tu yang dia bole main 2 tangan tu... dia boleh shred kiri kanan.. Skill & Theory jazz dia cukup bagus... respect tul.. dia boleh mainkan lagu jeritan batinku dalam 3 jenis jazz style... yang aku tak tahan skali si Sham ni main lagu highway star pakai Gambus...hehehe... tune gambus siap ikut tune gitar.... respect...respect... One humble guy.... _________________ My Sight & Sound @ Soundclick |

Much respect!!!!
But personally, for me, I find him more entertaining to watch him perform his wizardry, rather than to just listen to his music on a CD.
My analogy would be like, comparing between Stanley Jordan and Paul Gilbert. The first time I heard of Stanley's playing when I was a young punk kid, I thought...well...this guy is great...but he didnt really blow me away. When later I found out that the chordal work and the solos were played simultaneously live by just one person, and I got to watch a video of him, then I was blown away!
As for Paul Gilbert, just listening to his playing on CD blows me away to pieces. But if I were to watch him live, I get to see a great guitarist blow me away with his musicality, but I won't get to see somebody who blows me away visually by playing 2 or 3 guitars simultaneously or anything like what Michelangelo/Samtriggy does.
Personally, I prefer guitarists of the second category.
This is just an expression of my personal taste. I'm not saying that Paul is better than Stanley or vice versa. I totally love them both for their unique styles.
Back to the topic...Samtriggy is one helluva scary and talented guitarist!

Amazing..!
Ah wait, dont organ players actually play by both hands and feet too?
Interesting all in all! _________________ As books are not written for professional writers,as paintings are not painted for professional painters, so music is not made for professional musicians. |

Yep.
Organ players use both hands and feet.
In general the right hand plays the melody on the upper manual, the left- chordal work on the lower manual, and the left foot plays the bass pedal.
The right foot controls the expression pedal (volume control) and the right knee may be used to trigger another controller (which at that time when I was a kid playing the organ; was a sustain lever).
I suspect that samtriggy does play the organ apart from the piano as well...since the way he allocates the right/left hand and the left foot conforms closely to the way organ players do. |
