Sini nak tanya sikit sikit.. walaupun not sure whether you guys sudi share ke x share.
Actually nak tanya pasal you all mod pedal especially pedal boss..
What you guys biasanya mod kat dalam tu? and the difference in term of???
I plan to mod my MD-2 and SD-1 but x tau where to start from.. anyone here mind to share?

Oriat.
Aku baru mod MD-2 minggu lepas. boleh tahan bunyi dia. simpoi jer mod dia. kalo ko nak aku boleh tunjukan send me PM. Dan aku ader SD-1 mod. boleh tahan la tapi masih kat kengkawan test drive. Seterusnya dalam list aku adalah DS-2, GE-7 or CS-3.
Pekara- pekara sebab orang mod ne adalah.
1. EQ... kengkadang pedal macam boss ne bass dia kureng...
2. Distortion quality, nak bagi bunyi distortion tu lebih penuh, smooth, fokus. termasuk juga tambah drive dan volume.
3. nak buang bunyi noise, biasala, part murah bising bunyi dia.
4. tiru bunyi pedal lagend. cam kita mod bagi bunyi TS808.
5. nak improve hi fi satu pedal interm of bunyi keseluruhan dan buang frequency yang tak perlu.
6. nak bagi pedal tu lebih versetail, kira kita boleh adjust supaya range knob dia effect lagi jauh.
7. Upgrade componen bagi dia tahan lasak dan tak banyak masalah seperti bagi cap yang quality dan nilai volt tinggi skit.
8. Sebab nak study aper sebanarnya distortion, od,eq dan effect lebih mendalam, once kita buat secara practical for sure lebih senang faham cam mana benda ne berfungsi.
9. Utk kepuasan kita sendiri, sebab masing masing punya mod spec dan componen value tak sama sebab bunyi tone ne subjectif. lain orang, lain instrument, lain amp maka lain lah kuar bunyi dia nanti.
10. Kegilaan, utk mencuba sesuatu yang tak ader pada orang lain.
- harap kalo nak mod ne kene ader basic skit electric electronic macam pekara nak baca nilai cap, baca resistor, jenis potiemeter, fomula cacullation, jenis switch dan peralatan.
MD-2 mod.
- antara yang kita ubah adalah bagi distortion dia lebih tube punya. lebih smooth dan dynamic ikut tone jari. kalo kita main jenis celaru maka celaru lah dia.
- MD-2 ori bunyi dia macam tengelam oleh bass macam Fuzz pedal plak kengkadang. Sebenarnya ia disebabkan curcuit MD-2 compress bunyi treble dan menyebabkan bunyi dia tumpol. So kita bagi open balik supaya uncompress mid high dan high frequency supaya dia boleh ballance dengan bass melampau yang dah sedia ada kat MD-2.
- tambah lebih distortion tapi tak pelu sangat.
- atau add satu knob utk control middle high. complex skit sebab nak kene tebuk sana sini. tapi mid high ne akan menyebabkan kita boleh sqeel pantera tahap cipannnn. harmonic yang mantap sebenarnya perlu high mid freq supaya dia bunyi bulat dan besar berbanding harmonic biasa dekat frequency high dan presence.
- tak der buat sample audio lagi sebab pc dah masuk kotak. maybe next year.
- Aku suka MD-2 mod berbanding MT-2 mod sebab distortion dia lebih besar merangkumi bass middle dan treble. Lebih ketat dan phuncy bunyi dia sesuai utk riff metal open string.
- 2 knob tone utk control high dan bottom utk bass boleh berfungsi sebagai hi n low knob macam kat sanamp GT-2

but ni nak tanya.. tentang barang barang elektronik tu semua boleh dapat kat kedai elektrik kat sini ke? atau kena special order dari tempat tempat lain sbgnya?

aha!!! nak tanya sket...contohnya...kalo kita guna 100% circuit dan jugak bahan bahan sbg contoh metal zone punya...pastu kita buat pedal sendiri berdaasrkan circuit dan jugak bahan bahannya... sound dia bleh dpt sebijik mcm metal zone ke???

tak semestinya, sebab walo pun bahan yang sama, value yang sama, tapi quality yang berbeza boleh menyebabkan bunyi tak sama. Dan bukan senang nak carik chip or IC yang pedal pedal guna. sebab tak der kat pasaran. Macam capasitor... kalo tulis dia 104B... B tu adalah persen ralat dia. kalo kuta pakai 104 K , K ne ketepatan dia lagi kurang... so mesti ada perubahan dari segi EQ or gain or noise. begitu juga jenis cap pun ada beza bunyi dia. metal dan tantalum lain bunyi dia.
Tapi kalo dah 100% sama tu, mesti lah samaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

ooo... ook... tapi lah kalo ikut experience...ape bende yg paling susah nak jumpa atau cari kat malaysia ni? adakah chip, transistor , kapasitor, atau lain lain? hehe..abeh lah...jadik behringer jugak aku ni kang...kekeke!!!

IC chip, transistor, high quality cap, diod germanium memang payah nak carik kat sini. carik online shop usa jer. Tu kengkadang nilai mod dekat sama harga pedal. tapi disebabkan kepuasan tu. layan jer laaa.

Terbaru, aku ada mod utk OD-1.
mod bagi bass skit tak dan tukar IC Burr brown OPA2604.
IC ne sesuai utk SD-1 tapi tak beri kesan banyak kat Tubescremmer. OD-1 adalah sama circuit dengan SD-1 cuma tak der tone knob.
Lain aku upgrade semua e cap kepada metal film cap dan tantalum. bunyi jadi lebih fokus, kurang noise dan no harsh.
Utk distortion metal style, LED n gemernium lebih bagus berbanding silikon 1n4001/2/3 or 4148 tapi utk OD biasanya silikon sedap ditelinga aku terutamanya utk blues.
Aku biasa gabungkan all LED+silicon+germenium supaya semua taste ada dan lain skit bunyi. distortion bunyi mahal skit laa.
DIOD
Diodes are components that allow current to flow in only one direction. They have a positive side (leg) and a negative side. When the voltage on the positive leg is higher than on the negative leg then current flows through the diode (the resistance is very low). When the voltage is lower on the positive leg than on the negative leg then the current does not flow (the resistance is very high). The negative leg of a diode is the one with the line closest to it. It is called the cathode. The positive end is called the anode.
Diodes do many different functions. Overdrive, distortion and some fuzz pedals will use them to ‘clip’ the signal, creating the distortion effect. Led’s, which are “light emitting Diodes” can be used for the same thing, and in some circuits will actually light up when signal is present.
LEDs use a special material which emits light when current flows through it. Unlike light bulbs, LEDs never burn out unless their current limit is passed. They have a positive leg and a negative leg just like regular diodes. To find the positive side of an LED, look for a line in the metal inside the LED. It may be difficult to see the line. This line is closest to the positive side of the LED. Another way of finding the positive side is to find a flat spot on the edge of the LED. This flat spot is on the negative side.
The main reason for using different diodes for clipping is that they will all sound different, and clip the signal a little bit differently. Experimentation is the key here.
LED’s are of course used to signify if a pedal is on or off as well, simply by turning on the voltage going to the LED.
Diodes are also used in other places, such as protecting against using the wrong current, or polarity in a power supply. There are many types of diodes – the main ones we’ll be using are germanium 1n34a’s, 1n4001[silikon] (which works the same as the 1n4002[silikon], 1n4003[silikon], 1n4004[silikon], etc when used as clipping diode.)
