Some classics doesn't come with maple tops..
just go for a Gibson Les paul supreme  3k USD

maybe studio sebenarnya ada yang tak pakai maple top.
Correct me am i wrong.
Aku try terangkan ikut pembacaan dan pemerhatian aku.
- aku memang minat les paul shape tapi tak mampu nak angkat satu maybe next next year kalo durian segamat runtoh.
- ini khas utk korang semua sebelom aku bercuti 4 hari start esok. Cuti sakan ajer aku taun ne.
Kita start dari yang best sampai superb best.
Biasanya mula dengan studio, Standard, Classic, Supreme n custom
Perbezaan utama diorang adalah TOP WOOD MAPLE.
Maple biasa utk studio, AA maple utk standard dan superme pakai maple AAAA
Binding juga ada perbezzaan
Pickup
Neck profile
slim taper = 60 neck
50 rounded = 50 neck
59 rounded = studio punya.
classic thin = lebih slim dari 60 macam ibanez.
DAn ikut tahun ia lebih banyak size sebanrnya TAPI neck mohagany memang senang patah berbanding neck maple biasa.
Biasanya gibson ne memang orang carik ikut tahun keluaran dia tak kisah standard, clasic, gold top or what ever.
kebanyakan perbezaan sebenarnya adalah sebab cosmetic dan harganya sebenarnya.
TAPI, walo macam mana pun spec utk kesemua standard dan classic adalah berbeza ikut taun keliaran dia.
Gibson Les Paul Studio
- dia ne paling murah sekali.
- perbezaan jelas dia adalah, Asalnya studio yang tak ader maple top seperti jenis lespaul lain.
- body still masih mohagany.
- kebanyakan pakai 490R neck dan 498T bridge
- ringan berbanding jenis Gibson lain
- neck profile adalag 59 rounded
- tapi kebanyakan sekarang studio pun guna maple, swamp ash muiric and top tapi still lebih rinngan dari yang lain.
- trapezoid inlays.
- ada yang tak der pick guard.
- term of tone sebenarnya studio ne boleh main banyak jenis style music dari rock sampai vintage.
Identity jelas
- Studio tak der binding.
- Ada yang flat top tak der curve.
Gibson Les Paul Standard
- orang panggil dia standard sebab ini adalah standard tone utk GIBSON.
- Top Carved AA maple + mohagany back.
- neck profile 50s or slim 60s neck
- pickup adalah alnico V Bursbucker
- Ada binding tapi kat TOP.
- beza dengan studio, standard ada top binding.
- Standard = Alcino = modarete output
Identity jelas
- Standard single top binding.
- rounded 50 60 neck.
- trapezoid inlays = mother pearl. putih
- biasanya green key tunner
- biasanya gold top hat knob kecuali owner dia dah tukar. [tak ori la karang]
Gibson Les Paul Classic
- 1960 slim taper neck menyebabkan dia
- ne memang payah nak bezakan dengan standard.
- Spec semua hampir sama dengan standard.
- beza nya classic pakai 496R dan 500T
- caractor utama classic adalah pickup output tinggi.
- Sesuai sangat la utk hard rock or metal.
- biasanya nickel harware kecuali gold utk albony
- Standard = Ceramic = high output
- tapi yang reissue model kebenyakan complan dah tak sama macam bunyi classic awal awal dulu.
Identity jelas
- trapezoid inlays = kuning.
- rupa sama macam standard tapi neck nipis.
- neck paling nipis dalam keluarga lespaul.
- single binding top saja
Gibson Les Paul Supreme
- model gibson paling top.
- pickup = standard les paul = alnico
- Fretboard Supreme adalah dari kayu ebony
- kasta hampir sama dengan Gibson LP custom.
- top n back maple AAAA + centre mohagany = resonance kayu yang bagus dan ringan
- super rich tone.
- sebenarnya dia ne adalah semi hollow. dipangil chamber body yang ader lobang kosong.
- maple back tanpa cavity.
- double bending
Identity jelas
- inlays = pearl split block + inlay kat first fretboard
- double n Multiple bending
- guna speed knob macam lespaul studio.
- logo supreme
- tunner grover keystone
- hardware gold tinted, termasuk fret wire pun gold juga.
Kalo suprem made in china, dia ada cavity dan cover kat belakang. So senang jer nak tau ori ker tak. Sebab supreme bebetul tarak both cover caviti pot or switch.
Gibson Les Paul Custom
- ini bukan dari Gibson usa tapi dari keluaran Gibson custom shop.
- tak heran la walopun ada standard spec utk guitar ne tapi sentiasa berubah ikut pemintaan pelangan.
- yang famous black custom 1957 tapi costom ader banyak sebenarnya. Gold top, standard, junior, class5
- hardware dan spec berbeza ikut jenis custom.

- pickup kebanyakan pakai 490R neck dan 498T bridge sama macam lespaul studio
- maple top n mohagany back
- tapi - double n Multiple bending macam supreme
- Split diamond.

- biasanya berat

^ yea man ...most of the studios have no maple top
but sometimes we can see wierd stuffs over ebay lol..
i think it was last year i saw a Gibson LP standard on ebay with birdseye maple fingerboard and neck ..like..what the hell ..lol

I sedang fikir samada beli studio atau standard (tapi kena jimat duit dulu).
I nampak Slash (GnR) biasa guna LP Classic --- memang cantik guitar tu... tapi mahalnya...

Aper yang aku tau kebanyakan orang lebih suka Gibson Les Paul Standard sekiranya diorang memang carik gibson LP type tone. lebih kepada gibson true tone. Aku suggest go for standard.
Gibson studio ne ringan dan nipis skit body dia, dari segi tone dia bawah skit dari standard sebab tak der maple top atau bukan maple gred AAAA atrau kalu lain. Top wood sememangnya banyak main peranan utk guitar cutting LP. Combination both top dan back yang baik lah sebanarnya paling prang carik. without maple top aku rasa studio maybe bunyi lebih muddy. sebab top wood keras macam maple akan kuarkan middle n treble side. Mohagany sahaja selalunya bassy.
Classic, biasanya utk mereka yang suka neck nipis dan pickup high gain. Tak berapa bunyi classic seperti keluarang terdahulu.
Supreme bisanya dikenali sebagai new tone utk gibson LP khas utk diorang yang sentiasa ada pembaharuan. Ini teknology 3 lapisan. top, middle dan back wood. top n back maple = kayu bright. dan middle mahogany kayu bassy. gabungan kayu ne akan menyebab resonance kayu lebih komplex. mesti dynamic tone dari segi picking punya. tapi aku rasa tone cam ne meamng sukar nak dikawal dengan jari. Unless korang punya jari memang baik punya ala ala santana. jari IZZI pun boleh pinjam. hehhehe. Antara guitar yang guna style 3 lapisan kayu ne adalah yamaha RGX A2 yang diperkenalkan oleh saudara OKTA few month ago. tapi yamaha guna light wood sebagai middle core wood.

Memang rare ne. yang biasa LP maple fretboard adalah ZW camo. tapi jaga jaga sebab china punya ZW camo look real. Siap dengan custom dan zakk sticker.
Maybe it is a custom gibson. or limited addition.
maple birdseye memang lawo tapi kalo tak silap aku la ia tak sesuai utk gibson punya tone.
Gibson custom pun ada buat balik reissue model standard 1958/59/60
- it look like standard.
- kebanyakan spec nya pun standard
- tapi profile neck berbeza 1958 = 50 round, 1959 = famous 59 round and 1960 = 60 slim taper
- pickup dan semua spec lain hampir sama.
Utk studio model still ader banyak jenis. biasanya studio Plus or premier plus diangap atas lagi dari studio biasa. utk standard , gibson ader standard premium. But utk classic gibson ader classic custom.
Sepekara adalah ada banyak China clone sekarang ne. Dulu aku malas nak ambik tau pasal spec gibson. tapi lepas nampak banyak clone aku kene study skit real spec gibson supaya tak ler tertipu sangat. Biasanya clone China LP dijual dalam RM2000 ooo. Biasa seller kata bunyi hampir sama tone gibson, tapi rasanya tak... sebab company guitar besar lain pun susah nak buat tone gibson. lagi pun guitar bukanya electronic biasa yang boleh diclone dengan mudah. 2 miggu lepas ader orang advertise kat lelong.

Gibson price is wayyyyyy out of my budget..i mean..with 3k USD for a supreme...uhhh..i can pay a down payment for a new car ?
trust me..just go for ESP Eclipse ..best les paul copies...with class

jangan kata gibson... aku ne ESP ECLIP pun belom tentu boleh beli.
ECLIP pun dah usd1700 to usd2000... ESP tu. kalo LTD boleh la... hahhaha.
Aku rasa baik aku improve aku punya play dulu. guitar serdahana pun ok juga. tapi memang aku ader dua LP custom black beauty. Bukan aper, sebab aku rasa selesa shape cam tu. Syok sendiri jer la aku ne.

ESP EC
LTD EC (the Gold top with seymour duncans ..woot! )
basically..any nice looking LP ...got tired of strats already lol

Tokai, Burny, Greco, Orville are some great alternative (or counterparts) of Gibson. For the price of a Gibson Standard you can get an amazing specs and finish of Tokai - similar to historic LP, ie honduras,alu tail, nitro, etc

hey ultraman cosmo..or anybody..got some questions here
i came across a Epi LP standard for sale( MIK ) ..
it has all the features of a LP standard . trap inlays , bindings , chrome hardware , covered pickups , flame maple top...
but it is a bolt on..
the epiphone forumers tells me its a Les paul Studio standard..
but as i search for more..i couldn't find any info about it
just wondering any of you can tell what is it ? thanks
