i can too. but the issue is for the people who cant. which brings me to repeat my former question: why the elitist mentality of selective inclusion? |

I was being sarcastic....
My point is, there are no possible way to make something that does not exclude some people one way or another... _________________ Can you feel the groove? |

yo scumgrief....hahahhaha.. I bet you'll like Mawi if he covers Pantera on AF3.hehheheh...
Yeah, elitist.. Can't include everyone. But have wider coverage is good enough. Ben's Bitches covered English, BM, chinese and tamil in the song making. I think covered enough language barrier. Then the band covered rock, punk, reggae, ska, metal, emo, blackmetal, rockabillie and acoustics. More than any pub bands i know of in term of genre.
It's all in the album. Believe me grayheadphones, you have to listen to it. You might not like everything, but you'll find something you'll stop and listen to it over and over again. I'm optimistic.
But, if you're in for the diverse cultural relevance in the modern society of Malaysian while you think about drinking a teh tarik in Mamak, this album will be a soundtrack for you.
Just chill Grayee. |

hheheh aku rasa ko cuba guna dulu, walaupun tone down sikit, tapi Harian Metro tetap akan buat 'free' writeup untuk hang... dengan headline "Band Gersang dengan keyboardist berrambut fashioned Britney Spears"
hehehhe |

please do bear in mind there's a line between writing music with 'intention to disclude' and writing honest music that people cant help but to not like, if its not in their taste. that's basic musicianship and ben's bitches should already know this - i dont want to underestimate their knowledge of songwriting given the experience that they have. |

im sure ben's bitches have done all that in terms of language and various rock-styles, but the successfulness of the deployment is what people may have concerns with here.
most people dont know if the subject matter that you think is 'relevant', is actually relevant to them? thats why i think its such an elitist move, as if people who dont think in the ben's bitches mindset dont deserve to enjoy ben's bitches music.
excuse me for my doubts, but im the average joe type who if he's about to spend money on a cd, he would need to be more convinced, rather than just forking out money for just plain hype, or the more common 'support local industry' excuse.
the reality is, most people just need a better reason to buy a cd than that. like most people as well, i support local music that's actually worth supporting. if people were supporting *all* local music, all artists on i-bands would have music as their full-time sustaining career by now. and there's a reason for that not happening, although it would be the most ideal situation for the rest of us who write/play music. |

Two main points - Malaysian Oriented Lyrics & Present Cultural Comedy |
Are you saying that budaya Malaysia berorientasikan carutan dan lawak lucah? Are you saying that budaya Malaysia should be berorientasikan carutan dan lawak lucah?Apekah korang berpendapat trend ini adelah tak salah dan setiap rakyat Malaysia patut berbangga dengannya?Apekah korang berpendapat budaya lawak lucah dan mencarut sepatutnya menjadi sinonim dengan budaya Malaysia, terutamanya bila disebut mengenai komedi Malaysia?
Korang suka ke anak2 korang mencarut2 depan korang?
Korang suka ajar anak korang mencarut dan buat lawak lucah?

wow,'banyak' betul genrenye, ade la dalam 3-4 shj.Korang dengar genre2 ni aje ke?Seriously, ini takleh dikatakan 'covers many genre'.
Quote: | Key drives - Record something people might have thought of doing so but never did bother to do; in the Malaysian context. |
kat dalam i-bands nye vault aku dah jumpa band yg buat benda yg lebih kurang sama korang buat tp tak perlu mencarut2.Cume terlampau low profile (tak pernah join forum pun diorang).Plus kalu korang pikir rekod lagu mencarut2 tu tak pernah dibuat di Malaysia, think again. _________________ http://www.adzakael.com |

not all of their songs are lucah la brader azkael...most of them are just comedic/teen angst in nature with a few of them having some vulgar lyric..
just because of a few tracks definitely you can't say Ben Bitches is all bout lucah lyrics...take it in the bigger context of the whole album la...
but if you don't like it you can always choose not to listen..it's your god given right to like or dislike any type of music .. same thing like i don't like mawi - so what? i'll just tune to other stations when Aduhai Saliha gets played on the air he he...
*but on the other hand i do love singing Aduhai Saliha in karaoke but with James Hetfield / Amuk type of vocals ha ha ha ha..* _________________ my photoblog - http://sigemok.blogspot.com |
