SEQUEL
What it is:
Sequel is a brand-new and exciting way to experience making music on a computer. Combining intuitive tools to record, edit, mix and perform music with great-sounding loops, instruments and effects, Sequel is the ideal first step into music creation and performance. It’s an easy and fun way to create music by combining and editing a huge range of contemporary audio and instrumental looped content together with your own audio and instrument recordings. It’s also a fantastic way to perform music live, by cuing parts in realtime using the new Arranger modes, as well as mixing and tweaking sounds in performance.
What it’s not:
Sequel is most assuredly not “just” another version of Cubase. Every aspect of Sequel has been designed to attract a new type of customer to the Steinberg family. In particular, its single-window graphic user interface has a cool and modern look that positively invites musical experimentation, even if the user has little or no musical education or experience. Apart from this, Sequel does not include some fundamental Cubase functionality; e.g. there is no MIDI output to play or control external synths and devices, nor is there 3rd party plug-in support. In other words, there is a clear differentiation between Sequel and the Cubase product line.
Sequel’s Key Selling Points:
Sequel is an all-in-one package that includes thousands of up-to-the-minute loops, hundreds of instruments and a comprehensive effects set. It’s ready-to-use straight out of the box!
Sequel features a brand-new Arranger mode – with free-form pattern-style arranging in realtime – that takes any song or project to new creative territories on stage or in the studio!
Sequel offers a seamless combination of linear and pattern-based arranging.
Sequel is cross-platform – runs on both Windows and Mac. _________________ MIDI Specialist's forum is up , Lot 4.29,Low Yat Plaza, Tel:03-2143 1823. Cubase 5 is here.

Even Rm227 is a lot of money here in Malaysia. Let alone USD99 - that pays my housrent for a month with spare to change. With everything over inflated here, you can guess which one people will go for.
Personally I don't have a guilty concious when it comes to these things.
Of course, until i actually start making a living out of it, then I - in a heartbeat - will go get myself original software. And that is reality of most musicians here in this country. We don't make that much money to blow it on expensive software really...
Just my two cents worth (prolly less)
/ridz..
P/S My RM5 version software works just fine, thanks. |
