i think we have got alot of guys writing about guitar playing, techniques, scales, exercises, etc. this is awesome. however, equally important is the setting of our rigs. it's something we use all the time but most of the time, we twig those knobs based on what we hear.
perhaps could BODE write something on this. i've disposed of my stomp boxes and now using PODXT live. it's an awesome rig but it takes a while before i actually understand what those settings meant.
or maybe some one who knows can help out. as an example:
1. noise gate
2. compressor
3. equaliser/frequency/gain/tone
4. mic setting on amp
5. cabinet setting, 2 x, 4 x speakers, etc
6. pre-configuration or post-configuration
