| I'm have one Epi Les Paul then nak tukar pickup .. So any opinion from u all what humbucking pickup i should replace . Aku ingin kan tanpa tekan apa apa effect sound memang clean.. dan untuk sound Distort or Metal.. sound dia berat n tak kering. pendapat dari Otai semua amat lah di hargai. |

get a pair of Seymour Duncan Blackouts... They sound heavy as hell n are much nicer then EMGs... they are active but they dont have the tonal dead-ness of active pups... i'm still waiting for mine... it seems they have a whole shipment of neck pups but no bridges...

rule of a thumb....
Go for Alnico 2 type magnets if ur wanna sweet vintage tone..
Alnico 5 magnet for slightly hotter vintage tone.. and Ceramic magnets for HARD-rocking sound..
best combination is alnico type for NECK pickup and Ceramic type for BRIDGE pickup...
if still not enough..theres a lot of 'so-called' ACTIVE pickups to choose from..
no matter what pickup you choose.. it still the player finger that does it all...trust me.. |

i hav to agree also. And last few day, played a basswood guitar with this JB, ayooo tooo bright, not body tone. bass kureng tingal middle jer.
gua pernah baca itu JB sesuai utk mohagany guitar mahal, maybe epiphone pakai mogahany hujung balak kot.

- pickup ini macam, dscription dia boleh pakai mana mana guitar.
- mean, ini pickup ada voicing dia sendiri dan tak terlalu depand on tone wood.
- ini for sure selamat la, baling jer dalam memana guitar.
Ini duncan memang rumit, dia selalu bikin pickup spec guitar mahal mahal yg kayu cun. Dimarzio pada aku lebih save sebab kebanyakan pickup dimarzio tak jauh sangat lari dia punya voicing pada guitar dan kayu berbeza. Tapi still berbeza.
Tapi kalo tanya gua aper pickup mau beli, aku akan pilih dalam gulongan pickup utk tone bright, kerana guitar guitar murah dan sederhana adalah berada pada tone bright. Cuma mohagany nyer guitar jer jauh sangat range tone wood dia berbanding kayu biasa. Gua buat cam tu pasal guitar gua semua cap AYAM dan KATAK. hahahahahahahahhaha. Even Agantis yg dikatakan mohagany murah, belom sampai se bassy itu mohagany.
Aper la yg aku merapu pagi buto ne. release jap, penat mata gua buat soldering ne.
Aiiiii, brownwoof, kasih ceta skit pasal pickup yg di kurangkan magnetic pada pole itu hari. amacam cun.

pickups ni sensitive issue.. banyak sangat players taste... ha ha ha! aku suka standard yg lebih kurang flat eq.. asalkan ada body sound dah cukup, but guitar must be good la acoustic dia. i don't really need some atomic ajinomoto added to my pickups sound.. agak2 la. the other pedals will help.. kadang2 overdo eq on pickups ni will kill the beauty of the guitar tone. carila yg bole compensate apa yg bole h balancekan tone yg diperlukan. this depends on how you squash the tone too..
secara basic even single coils pon ada merepek dia, macam dulu waktu zaman staggered, g string masih ada wound, lepastu tak ada wound. distance of the magnets to the strings masih sama.. the pickups reacts differently over the strings.. some like it, some don't. biasa dengar player complaint " apasal bila aku bending e string aku dia macam hilang sikit sound dia aa?" dengan adjustable pole pieces, problem settle. but in the 80s, diorang ketok pakai paku magnet tu... really man.
also, dulu zaman vintage, the magnets are not the same as now. the alnico now seems too perfect in construction, too solid. aku ada baca kat forum seymour duncan satu masa dulu, the best one adalah yg poros sikit.. bigger grains.. to understand this tak la susah sangat, macam cerita gagak nak minum air kat dalam botol la.. magnectic pull dia pon quite low, dc resistance dia low, fomvar yg lama, some are enamel or wax coated. dia punya response are more true accousticly..
but to cap ayams dan kataks, you need some 'tepong gomak' pickups to help. sometimes, they can sound better than your expensive strat when blended correctly.
aku tengah relic pickups kasi vintage tone, still experimenting. dah achieve 1st proto type, acoustic dia pass. nanti ko try aaa..

aku suka seymour punya pickups.. i like his work, but ada jugak yg aku tak rasa sesuai dgn aku macam rails type dan heavy outputs..

hmm
disebab kn issue yg bagush camni lah aku sampai skang tk tukar humbuck kt gitar semihollow aku tu,sebab aku sendiri tk pasti sound body tu camne..dan aku sendiri tk pasti and tk tau karektor sound utk semihollow tu camne.sebab aku tk penah pegang the real one nye camne sond yg kuar.atau aku yg tk memahami ttg sound guitar semihollow ni camne..walao bnyk mane pon aku dgr! heheh..
itu lain lah kalo dh cas ngan pedal2 ke atau ape cara bagi sound jadi lebih solid.so camne soalan yg aku nk buat pada brother2 yg lebeh arif pon gua tk tau camne nk buat soalan tu.
sebab gua rase.topik utk dpt kn sound ni jugak punca kunci nk dapat kn feel right.?padahal nk cari sound clean jer! masalah nye.aku sendiri pon tk tau clean tu category clean yg macam mane yg sesuai!! haha.maaf saya ialah gila.sekian.
