Ok,
Remember I somewhere in this forum I talked about latency problems with my soundcard?
Well, I have found the answer to fix this problem. Which means I have just saved my SB Live 5.1 from the dustbin. There is this driver called the kXdriver which i have come across while surfing the internet looking for a miracle...and I have found one.
Basically now i can use Amplitube (or what ever VST plugin) without that annoying delay (latency). With the original drivers the latency was about 49.53ms. But with the kXdrivers i managed to reduce it to an amazing 2.66ms!!
This has improved MIDI control...where is is no more lag between pressing the keyboard and the sound coming out...things happen instantly!! (now i can program my drumtracks in real-time now). Recording guitar has never been sweeter!!!

So if you have an EMU10K1 and EMU10K2-based soundcard manufactured by Creative Technology Ltd. and/or E-mu Systems Inc., including the SoundBlaster Live! series, the E-mu Audio Production Studio (APS) card, and the Audigy / Audigy2 series of cards, download this amazing breakthrough at :

You will be surprised!!! Just a word of caution though...its pretty advanced..and it was a bit of a bitch for me to understand at first. But if you have downloaded and installed it on your computer and need help. Just PM me.
Just goes to show Creative are just trying to make more money by not writing proper-drivers for their cards. I figure they want people like me to buy their newer Audigy/Audigy2 Card (which is also problematic as I understand)

Me still shopping for soundcard! At the moment since I'm just remixing-remastering my old shitty demos, I'm using the piece of shit built in soundcard la

i use to use this stupid driver....
works fine...great latency level...until for sometime...it start to have a freaking beeping sound....
prolly some protection stuff...but i tot i was free....
silap baca kot...
u not having ne problem with ur kxdrivers? |

Well nope ..until this morning when i fired up Cubase again. Bila aku select the kxDriver in the VST Multitrack panel... semua VST inputs hilang....
there must be something that i have missed... takpe aku nak tanya bebudak kat forum kXdriver...they seem to be very helpful

As it turns out, I have to set the sample rate to 48000Hz for recording otherwise the ASIO inputs will not be visible. seems to be working fine now. although this means i have to redo my new songs because i recorded those in 44100Hz ...This is because the new sample rate fucked up the arrangements in a big way... |

free stuff....probally have to do more research to have it stable on ur system...
i've tried other drivers for SBLive! can get low latency but it's like using up the cpu's power or something....have these cracking sound.....
so i gave up.....just bare with the latency until i get my new soundcard...heheh  |

hehe.. ridzi... aku pakai soundcard SB Live! 5.1 ... aku ade prob la lepas install driver tuh... apsal rear output aku dah tak function ... atau nak kena ubah setting die... aku dah ubah mcm2 setting dah kat speaker setup.. tak bley jugak.. hehe!!!
2. AC97 Recording Source tuh aku nak set kat 'stereo mix' ke???
3. sample rate aku nak kena ubah ke 48000 Hz ke??
4. mic ngan line in aku boleh guna sekalikan?? so bile aku record die akan kuar 2 track ke??

Soalan 1 - Itu aku tak sure sangat la.. kalau stereo mix xtu aku assume tu macam 'What You Hear' channel
Soalan 2 - Depends on which input you are using...aku pakai Live Drive II (yang kat depan tu) So setting aku lain
Soalan 3 - Yes you have to use 48Khz otherwist the VST Inputs wont work.
Soalan 4 Boleh, tapi in the input settings ko kena create input dia dalam Device Settings - VST Inputs. Pastu bila ko create dua Audio track dalam Cubase/Nuendo, satu ko set kan pada Mic...satu lagi pada Line (Assuming you are using the Mic and line in inputs
Yang rear outputs ko takde bunyi aku ada dah post kat sini not so long ago...but here it is again anyway- Look at the diagram below. Click on option that is labled 1 and then click on Option 12. This option selects whether front and rear physical outputs are swapped.

ok thanks.. erm.. what more question.. hehe!!!
bile aku create new project.. die kuar 'samplerate could not be set. This maybe due to the sampleclock being set to external sync.'
