how to do this skill?
been working with it all day long
susah gila lagi2 bila blaja ngan net tgk orang buat
shud i pick near to the fret i need to tap?
tp nanti susah nak mute string pulak
contoh lagu macam canon rock tu
banyak gila sweep tapping
help please abg2 pro |

hai. aku jauh skali daripada seorang 'abg pro' la tapi aku nak kongsi care aku buat jela eh. dlu pnah gak terblajo teknik ni..taim 'obses' ngan marcel coenen dulu hehe..tapi tip ni berdasarkan trial and error aku la. tak tau la klau ade care yang lebih btul ke..
dari awal aku cube blajo sweep picking mmg lebih near the fret/neck pikap..sebab aku dapati lagi sonang buat kat situ. so bile nak combine ngan tapping mmg lebih mudah la sebab dah biase pick kat area situ.
tip: untuk handle muting tu, stat ngan posisi yang comfortable untuk mute bottom strings, pastu semakin ke bawah ko sweep, semakin ke-depan kan aka nearer to the fret kan la pick tu..sebab tali e B G tak perlu mute sangat kan. dengan itu juge automatically semakin dekat la pick/jari ngan posisi fret yang nak tap tu..so semakin sonang la nak execute tapping tu. assuming yang note yang nak di-tap tu kat tali e/B/G la.
harap2 bergune la esei pendek aku di atas. klau tak, ko bleh cekaut gitaris2 yg slalu pakai teknik ni contohnye romeo, coenen, tony macalpine dan basically almost every other shredder there on youtube..haha. kengkadang tengok video diorang main pon dah bleh agak camne diorang buat..pastu trial and error sindri la orait.

Akum n hi.
I'm not that good playing guitar, but for sweep tap, the most important part is the palm muting section, "sangap" already explained to you, this helps to avoid the other strings from vibrating causing unpleasant noise.
if you have mastered the sweep taps, try string skip tap..you can see the example from you tube, just type "andy james". he is a very good shredder from uk

yeah, and i forgot to mention : practise the 'fretting fingers' muting as well. mine still sucks though..hehe
