Whoa Gabardine man....this is not the kind of music that I usually dig, but I gotta take my hat off for the great composition/performance/recording!
Keep on rocking dude! |

well Gabardine at the moment is just Jeff. Aku sorang sangkut dekat Australia and the rest of the band is back in Malaysia (if theyre still alive la), so im basically doing everything myself then find a band to play it nanti ala Dave Grohl.
Anyway, thanks for the comments guys..appreciate it
Another 6 more songs to finish up recording then its finished. By the way, Ridzi is helping me redo the drums and remaster the song so its gonna sound better after that (I hope!). Thanks man! Tak sabar nak tunngu remastered and re-drumed.
Pali : The drums were programmed using adobe audtion while the guitars and bass were mic-ed at the Music School. Theres sound proof cubicles here where you can setup sendiri and which is free by booking during normal hours, bayar when after hours. Aku bawa comp and amp kat situ, borrow a few condensor and anything left out aku pakai POD kat rumah. Vocals done using APex large diaphram mic (aku beli bleh tahan mahal though still considered low end) and the rest were using Shure mics (itu aku pinjam). I use some foot effects mainly my tube screamer for light distrotion and use the amp distortion for heavier ones, which gets fed into a mic preamp/DI box (behringer tube ultragain) which then goes to my audigy 2. I try to get the effects right but record with minimal reverb. Dah track everything down in adobe Audition, then mixdown everything and use my ears to get the proper mix (post processing effects - extra reverb, compression, delay, panning, stereo widening, hard limiting, etc on each individual track). Its still considered pretty bad and some parts are still buried but itu actually tugas sound engineer . Hope that answers your question!
p/s Im thinking of doing an Adam Jone s(tool) setup where you use 3 separate amps using a cable splitter to balance up some lack in tone. Effects and post processing can only do so much...
ONE MORE THING;
have you guys ever brought up the topic of making an I-Bands CD to distribute. I for one and a few puluh2 people i know would buy it. Maybe we can start a thread about it ? Bode? Ridzi? Grymlock? Deadzid? camne? To be frank, i was extremely surprised at the amount of talent dekat i-bands. Boleh buat double CD boxed set lagi..haha. |

wah ridzi is doing the drums? fuh tak sabar nak dengar.
about the CD thing, If bands are willing to contribute a song or two to be in the Comp. then it's going to be easier lah. (in return of free webspace & kira donation lah ). But if the bands expect some payments out of it.. then aisey.. gonna be some problems lah. nak press & printing cd pun blom tentu lepas nieee. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

the truth is we're all independent bands and real happy to get something out there. Besides, its good promotion i think for this site, not to mention opening some eyes to the abundance of unsigned Malaysian talent to the music industry.
and you can fnally use that "bandstore" tab kat atas tu.
ps: theres enough people active in this site to pull a few networked strings

oo yea la.. I forgot to redo the bandstore! ishk Actually Jeff.. I'm not sure wether u know this or not, before this we have a feature for the bands to showcase their releases. But the method of payment installed together with this software is paypal. So I took it out and plan to build a basic order form so visitors can order it directly from the bands. Method of payment will be up to the bands.. then seperti biasa.. other things came along and.. habis terkubur
Ridzi yeah.. Emailed some bands but not even half of them replied! which made me terus macam hilang semangat nak bikin. Should start it back lah. I'll include this info in our 1st newsletter. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

probably sednign to dead acounts or gets into junk mail. I think you can figure out which pages get most hits (i assume it would either be the front page or charts page) and post an advert there kat tepi somewhere. That way you can have the interested bands email you rather then you eamiling them. |

hmmm...good question, the cd could be for those who dont know about the site so released to the general public. As for me, and a few more others im sure, theres the novelty of owning a CD rather than a dowloaded MP3 of songs. Maybe we can talk about this further...we need more input i think. |

ajeep , aku rasa kau kena buat cam a legal form just to authorize release of songs . nanti takut ada orang buat perangai , first kasi lepas tu nak some money plak . it'll also be better if you can clearly state where the money goes to ( mcm any profit khas utk further development of i-bands saje etc) so senang skit la nak convince orang join this project..apakata 50% profit masuk tabung 'Omar's New Car Fund' hehe... aku bawa keta honda buruk je skarang 89 accord dpt 400 dollar je..hehe.. _________________ my photoblog - http://sigemok.blogspot.com |

Hey thx for the msg Jeff. Gerun aku baca citer recording ko... ya la for a guy who records using only a comp mic, rasa cam aku baru turun dari pokok lak...
Anywayz, heard forward view... layan beb... aku rasa aku nyer taste a bit like Doc (rock kangkang kot), tapi skali2 layan alt-grunge nie best gak (sorry kalo silap label, aku mmg tak penah amik tau pasal genre...)
Pasal ed ved nyer vokal tu aku tak kisah sgt... scott stapp pun cam tu gak, last2 kaya gak mamat tu... haha _________________ http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/72/music.php
