Guys,
Ernie Ball had just released a new kind of strings to join their 'Slinky Range'.
Ernie Ball 'Not So Slinky' (paket hijau gelap)
Aku selalu pakai Skinny Top Heavy Bottom, tapi ada sikit kurang la, sebab bila aku nak 'dig in' bila buat palm mutes lelaju, tali macam floppy sangat...jadi sound ko jadi macam sumbang sikit!!
Aku terbaca pasal tali baru ni...and apparently John Petrucci pun endorse tali ni...
Semalam aku ade beli satu set, dan aku dah pasang kat guitar LP Epi aku... tuned to C... By the way... I decided to take out the bridge pickup yang aku tak pakai tu....aku also ada terbaca pickup yang tak pakai tu boleh mengurangkan sustain....anyway...apa yang aku perasan... is an improvement in my tone that can be described as more defined mids, very nice compressed and even distortion sound. Bass is punchy (not boomy) with just enough high end for that evil metal sound. The tone is darker as well. memang sesuai sgt2 le untukl tuning down to C (macam Inflames) hehehehehehe
Despite the fatness of these strings...they feel so comfortable to play with. Tak tau la, sebab aku ni pun dah memang biasa pakai fat strings nie. Tapi one thing for sure... Pinch harmonics keluar saje bila buat..hehh terasa macam Zakk Wylde kejap
Gauge dia adalah seperti berikut
.12 .16 .24P .32 .44 .56
see John Petrucci test these strings and explain the benefits of these string by clicking here

wow... aku tersangat kagum ngan Petrucci sampai terlupa nak beza kan sound tali biasa dgn sound tali Not Even Slinky tu.. hahaha!
anyway, aku rasa nak beli la set tu pastu install kat my Squier Strat! tapi, kat mesia nih dah ade jual ke? hmm... aku tak biasa main tali tebal2 ni, sakit jari aku!
wei ridzi, kau punya Epi tu pakai neck pick-up je la ye? tak pakai bridge langsung, even for solos? _________________ > facebook

Aku teringat ko ada tanya nak pakai gauge apa yang paling sesuai utk downtune dulu...tu sebab i thought you might e interested in these strings sebab aku teringat ko ada cakap bila ko downtune banyak buzzing. Buzzing langsung tarak pakai strings ni (Bridge saddle kena adjust sikit la sebab gauge lain)
Deadzid, Epi aku sekarang ade lobang kosong haw haw haw ...nanti petang kang aku tangkap gambar terbaru dia... kalau untuk solo2 tu aku pakai neck pickup 7 string aku...bunyi dia sedap lagi. Epi aku tu strictly untuk rhythm tu...
Pasal string tu ada jual kay Malaysia, aku tak sure...tapi tu sebab aku letak gauge size dia kat situ, boleh ko beli tali dia seperately....

itu macam tak payah pakai Not Even Slinky pon boleh la ye, asalkan gauge dia betul? actually, sebelum ni memang aku pakai gauge yg kau senaraikan tu, campur2 gibson n fender strings! still ade buzzing gak. ntah la maybe setting lain kot (saddle, etc)... _________________ > facebook

Zid, memang macam tu...everytime ko tukar gauge, ko mesti nak kena re-adjust guitra ko sikit... kalau fixed bridge memang senang je...cuba ko bayangkan orang yang pakai floating trem...addduhhhhhh memanag tension....haw haw haw!

Bode...make sure you have to tighten up the back springs accordingly for your guitars if you do decide to use these strings...the tension is quite immense!! Rabak tremolo system ko nanti.... But thats if you decide to tune to EADGBE...
Maybe it wont be that bad if you tune to C standard (im sure you know what i mean..hehehe aku tak ingat)

....mmg tension pun masa nak restring!.......LAgi satu, kalu takder eletronic tuner mmg hampir mustahil nak tune gitar yg pakai floating trem, sbb bila nak tune satu string,string2 lain yg dah tune pun akan lari tune balik.Kena selalu check/re-check semua strings sampai semua intune.
Bukan tu ajer, masa tuning tu pun, trem angle kene jaga.Kalu tidak, bila strings semua dah tune, tremolo plak terjongket ke atas ataupun bawah.Kalu trem angle lari ,maka action plak akan rasa stiff(nak songket tali high e pun rasa mcm nak tercabut kuku)....so kene la reset balik semua...dan tune balik! Kalu dah penat sgt, kenalah give up dan cuba lagi esok.(sampai dpt)
Akhir kata, kalau tak berani di lambung ombak jgn berumah di tepi pantai..akakakakaka _________________ http://suicide-by-overdrive.fotopages.com |

Aku baru balik dari Bentley... Tapi malangnya set Not So Slinky takde jual... Set utk 7-strings ade la... tapi nasib baik dia ade jual strings asing2, aku nak ikut In Flames punya gauge set using:
.11 .17 .24 .32 .42 .52
Not So Slinky nih agak tebal la... boleh luka jari ...
aku angkat gauge .52 (Fender & Ernie Ball)... the rest, nanti aku beli tali murah je, satu set RM10 (cap ayam)... tapi mane nak carik .24P??? ade ke? kalau wounded tu banyak la... _________________ > facebook

ilek la, aku pernah pakai .62 takde berdarah pon...
tapi menyumpah-nyumpah la pasal tebal mcm babi!
pali, bila pakai gauge tebal nih, takde la nak guna tune standard... kalau dah down tune sampai ke B tuh, sama je mcm pakai gauge & tune standard bila main / bend... _________________ > facebook

can this thing solve the problem?? tapi kena guna special SpeedLoader strings la pulak... hmm
Floyd Rose SpeedLoader Tremolo
The SpeedLoader Tremolo offers all the versatility of the original Floyd Rose Tremolo™ with the ease and performance of the SpeedLoader System. You can still execute the most subtle tremolo or wildest dive-bombing effects and return to perfect tuning every time. The SpeedLoader tremolo also features the new Floyd Rose TremStopper that enables the player to block the tremolo system with a simple turn of a screw. _________________ > facebook
