Duncan... Versatile pickups... could be 'sumbat' on any guitar and still sounds good.. most of the time you wont have to think what body wood or string gauge or bridge type that you use. the sound still could be accepted.. but tonewise.. i donno.. i buta tone.. Dimarzio... most of these pickups would sounds muddy if not properly chosen... so you need to properly select the right pickup for your guitar... match with body wood, eq, neck, bridge, electronics.. bla bla.. (you get my point there) so you need hardwork & homework to properly setup this pickups.. not just sumbat2 done... if not it will sounds like those low end chinamade guitars... EMG... its in-your-face sounds and tone... it should be really clear and cut-through sound.. but with sumbat2 done setup... it would be in-your-butt sound.. tone? i buta tone.. same with Dimarzio... you need to do a lot of homework and working hard to get the best out of it... if wrongly setup, you would have earwax bloody ripping shrieking noise.. rather than good-clear-high-gain tone... but some of it still prefer this shrieking noise and call it sound-metal-jahat...
