Seems like wishful thinking, but just wondering; anyone here interested to jam covers from Cynic or Aghora?
I'm a hobbyist who plays the guitar, based in Kelana Jaya/Bandar Baru Bangi. Looking to turn this into a 'suke-suke buang mase' activity. So yeah..interested drummers, bassists, guitarists & vocalists please contact me either thru PM or SMS and we can discuss afterwards.
If you're not familiar with these bands but are into technical or metal stuff I'll be glad to guide you thru them. Similarly, if you feel your ability hasn't reached this level yet..mine hasn't too. So I say let's improve together2

edit - Lupe lak. Wouldn't mind learning and jamming covers from band2 yg sewaktu dgn diorg ni (Portal, Gordian Knot, Exivious, Alarum etc. Even Death, Spiral Architect or Necrophagist to a certain extent) jugak. And although would be better if available, 7-string or downtuned guitars not really necessary..I play 6-string standard myself.

mcm Hypocrisy, Dismember, Gorefest, Benediction, etc...
tapi bukan aku la yg minat... drummer aku...
tapi sayangnya dia based in Melaka...
tapi kalau nak jamming lagu2 mcm tu secara PERCUMA,
boleh la luangkan masa anda kat studio dia...

aiseh, aku tak pernah dgr lagi la band2 tersebut..mcm agak extreme je kedengarannye. aku ni bukan metal pon, just minat ngan beberapa band metal camni je.
tapi aku akan try la 'preview' band2 tu..klau aku rase masuk & bleh bawak, nanti aku gitau camne eh. time2 sangap camni takleh memilih sgt, sebat jee mane ade tehehe.

hi sangap,
i am guitarist/bassist with 20+ years of playing on my back and about 20 instruments in my closet. my equipment is all rackmount, but also about 20 years old - it doesn't need to be the latest electronic gimmick. the advantage is, i know exactly what it sounds, plug in the guitar and play, no time-consuming soundcheck required.
your list of reference bands is a quite new to me, but gordian knot is definitely worth a thought. everything close to king crimson / trey gunn is!
when you think tech-metal, would that cover planet X, tony macalpine and friends?
age/experience-wise and in looks, i am more resembling the role of mr.fripp, but my experience is anyway that i have to buddy up with people 10-20 years younger to meet my musical taste.
i live in subang usj, but have a car. if interested, call or sms

Aku antara peminat setia Cynic dan band band sewaktu dgn nye.. aku collect semua kebanyakan album project band dari Cynic line ups.. sebab Cynic jugak band aku Arsonveil wujud..(tapi tak main cynic pun) kekeke
Harith dah jumpa drummer bagi tau aku.. aku main second guitar lah..hehehe lead ko bleh take care all the way.. bleh la suka suka Jem..
