where should i start? i mean for those nice looking cd covers..who do i go to to print em nicely?how much for how much?wheres good place to start sellin at?how much?what should i do and not do?i feel like releasing something and i need all the help i can get from you guys. i've got enough songs to make like 2 3 albums but i guess an ep with my best works is a safer choice ya? to my understanding and ep (extended play) consists of 5-8 tracks and an Lp 3-5 tracks...right?and... any cheap/good quality place to print t-shirts/stickers..etc? i know its gonna cost me a bomb but i guess its probably time to take the next step...so...yeah..tell what you guys think.peace. |

hey adam, just go ahead with the album!. u have more than enough songs anyway. It'll be more worth it for your fans.
I think the cost for Inlays & printing is roughly ranging around RM2-RM4 per cd. and normally in a bulk of 500 to 1000 minimum.
Pressing the cd will also cost around RM4 per CD. in a bulk order as well.
for t-shirt printing, it should cost you no more than RM20 per t-shirt. They guys from the band called Plague of Happiness can do t-shirt printing. I also has a friend in JB that can do t-shirts & stickers.
I'll give you some numbers to call so that u can have a chat with them or something. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

adam ... i agree with ajeep la, if you're going to press, may as well do album terus.
i'm very concerned about how to jaga copyright & publishing of my songs. ajeep ... you have any tips on this?
esp w/ my band having a lot of foul language and questionable lyrics, i'm quite concerned. i don't expect to be able to put my stuff in shops, so i'm not going to bother getting those hologram stickers. but copyright & publishing la. ada any nasihat? |

land-i : normally the anwser is MACP lah. but bear in mind that if registered under MACP, all those small2 gig organizers that are having you on the show will have to pay a certain amount to them as well. The good thing is, they are doing all the work for you. you can get royalties for radio air play and stuffs.
the alternative way, can be found in this article below.

the link to the downloadable sample files are not available now due to malscene server upgrade. should be back up again pretty soon. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

yeah. To have our mixdown tracks in a standard level I supposed. And to balance the level between all our tracks. Offcourse other process applies. adding 2 secs before each songs, removing white noises and stuffs.
but I guess if u're on a tight budget, you can always try and master it on your own. Software based mastering. A friend of mine recommended n-racks (if I'm not mistaken). I tried experimenting with a few tracks before for a friend of mine (using cubase), but I didn't get really successfull due to the mixdown tracks weren't properly mixed. Also due to me being so tak sabar and ended up..doing the "belasah sajalah" method. But basically what I did was, trying to make the tracks sounded as similar as possible to my reference commercial cd for that genre.
So I'm basing on the idea that, if we can make the level, the overall tightness of the mix to be as good as the commercially released cd, then probably we're on the right track. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

go ahead adam, most of us here are behind you. Youre one of the best around here, and i'd pre-order a copy of your album sekarang juga .
anyway, im going through the same things you are t the moment , still recording and not really sure if its going to be an LP or EP.
btw, i think you got the terms wrong.
Single - 1-3 tracks
EP - 4-7 tracks
LP - 8 tracks ++
theres a page i found once that talks about it and that those terms are pretty general since it all depends on how its getting marketed as.
You might as well go with an LP you know. JUst sit down and make sure the tracks go together well, and not to put everything there. Save some stuff for next album or for "THe best of ADAM" album. Hahahaha...good luck man! |

adam, my problem exactly! You can also look outside of malaysia. With broadband, there's no boundries
Normally those guys in US & UK would master 1 track for u FOC for u to evaluate. If u like what they've done, u can go ahead and proceed with the transaction lah. The cost however, although it's considered cheap over there, it's gonna be a bit more expensive here due to currency conversion. But it's a good experience though IMHO.
I can give u a couple of contacts if u're interested to do that.
cepat la lu duaorang! gua pulak excited!
i'm sure it's gonna be a blast. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |
