Topik ni buat aku rasa bila telan air liur ..air liur aku rasa manis...sebab sedap topik ni.
1) kena minat ( betul2 minat )
betula tu apa yg sham cakap. kalu setakat gitu-gitu je minat nye..maka gitu-gitu jela blues yang kluar. Apapun, xjadi kesalahan pun..belasah jela.
Cuma , kalu betul-betul nak main stail purist kenala layan muzik ni sampai mual, muntah, lebam satu badan.
kena layan pecahan blues ...bukan 12 bar aje. ( Bab yg inilah telinga boleh jadi tuli, perut jadi senak, mata terbeliak melayan perasaan muzik blues yang banyak cabang , byk mood, byk citer nye).
2) kena jadi bluesman.
Sebab apa tak ada istilah blues star? sebab bluesman bukan karektornya mcm rockstar. bab ini yg susah nak faham sebab ini melibatkan kesederhanaan yg berperingkat mengikut susun jalur mentaliti dan pembawakkan seseorg individu.
3) pilihan instrument.
Renung dlm2 pilihan instrument , pedals & amps. Nak rasa bogelnya anda memetik blues cuba la tele dulu sebelum pi ke strat , lp dan gitar-gitar seterusnya.
4) Rinngkas untuk releven dgn apa yg bro Omar tanya...mau bikin solo atas progression blues > yg utamanya..apa yg hendak anda ceritakan dalam solo tu. byk artikel yg aku himpun, kebanyakkan bluesman @ blues player cakap..xde apa yg susah dalam teknik main blues..kalu bende tu susah..x bluesla pada mereka.
5) Selalu anggapan stereotaip: siapa main blues kira masuk kategori Otai.
Aku rasala.
-----------
Bila baca balik , malu pulak...mcmla la aku tau sangat ..padahal biasa-biasa aje ...tapi sebab blues punye pasal ..kalu genre music lain x beranila pulak nak sentuh,
apapun....moga kita semua terus maju dan jaya..Yipiii!

hohoho..manstim. kita pernah borak ye? Wah..identiti ku terbongkar, ni yg buat aku tersipu malu sampai kecut lesung pipit di pipi kiri ku yang banyak tahi lalat ni...
anyway...part 2:
John Lee Hooker kalu masa hidup dulu tengok apa sangatla yg dia sendiri boleh buat masa goreng gitar ...bandingkan gitarist blues yg lain...mesti dia gantung gitar masa umur 29 tahun...tapi tak. macamana tu?
Mesti feel punye.
>) Nazeem, izzi & zubira..keep it up. Kau org nila antara penyebab muzik blues x berkubur kat ibands ni dan kat luar sana.
>) Raggy..komen paling blues pernah aku baca kat malaysia ni. All the best 2 u.
>) Browndog...apsal lama xde artikel mcm dulu? HUH? dah jadi kedekut? tak blues la brother....

The Duke's Website :
http://www.klblues.com/v2/
I may be there on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of June, arranging to play with my band for 1 set alongside Purple Haze, and of course jam a bit. Long drive there from Kulim, but blues punya pasal.....My entire fan club from KL will be there, all 2 of them. _________________ http://www.raggyproject.com |

nice thread... i feel (not think ), that first and foremost, the essence of a great blues lick would comprise of 3 very important elements, at least for me: tone, bend, and vibrato. they are subsets to feel and vibes...
all the greats possess these two fine characters of playing the blues. EC is fondly known for his wrist vibrato (he says that could take you a long time to learn...), and his tone is amazing, even more evident from his playing with his older guitars, namely blackie and the red 335. for bends, he uses his pinky and not 3 fingers... that itself, gives a different tone and feel to the lick...
the 3 kings (freddie, albert, and bb) together with muddy waters and howlin wolf were the epitome players of their time, often credited for their influences to EC, SRV, Bloomfield, Winter, and etc. All 3 proponents have their signature tones, bends, and vibratos, and licks that go with 'em... even Winter's got a wicked vibrato from the slide he aces...
i'd say, emulate your blues heros and analyze their techniques closely... in the process, you'd develop your own sound. that's a faster way to have a signature sound rather than scales analysis...
scales are purely academic than anything else... in the end, you would only be identified by your signature tone, bends, and vibratos... and of course all of these make up your scale lick...
remember how you could identify a player just by his tone and licks... that's the light at the end of the tunnel... peace bro! _________________ hey there good lookin', ron's gonna do you some good... |

hey zubira.. cheers! check out tis video clip here... really love the tone..

don't need no fancy pedals, mixo/pixo scales, lightning fast fingerwork, not even a guitar pick; just a great guitar thru a great amp (think it's a 1957 fender tweed twin), and tons of feel... _________________ hey there good lookin', ron's gonna do you some good... |
